William Overly i’m not sure what this is in reference to. i’m about 3 years out of my broadway obsession so i’m not up to date on all the inside jokes. but if you simply mean that brad pitt is more attractive, okay. otherwise i’m not sure what brad pitt has to do with a joke from a lin-manuel miranda song.
I find that in Jeremy Jordan's live performances of this song, too. It always sounds like he's rushing to keep up. It pace is perfect on the soundtrack
3:16-3:24 “I’m feeling panicked, rushed and hurried”. The mixture of relief and frantic in his delivery there is so fitting. His whole program at this event was most impressive.
This is second only to, if not on par with, Jeremy’s version. Groffs placement is SO GOOD, only his pitch isn’t as good as Jeremy’s. I think I prefer his placement to Jeremy’s though, he sounds so good 😍😭
i remember the first time i listened to the last five year's soundtrack i thought this song was perfect for jonathan's character on glee and searched on yt to see if there was tiny chance that jon might had sang it somewhere and found this and felt so happy
It's a touch fast. It really shows at the end. Those runs and notes don't sound good when you have to rush them and get literally zero time to breath. His pitch started slipping a bit because he didn't have time to get a good breath to support those belted high notes.
Why is everyone talking about him stealing Jeremy's thunder? Jeremy got the role in the film. Everyone in the musical community sings songs from other musicals on the circuit so they aren't stealing anyone else's thunder. Are people stealing Judy Garlands thunder when they sing Over the rainbow? Get over it. Do you think Idina Menzel or Kristin Chenowith get upset everytime someone sings a song of theirs from Wocked? It's common in the musical comunity. Quit acting like little kids and try to be mature like these professional artists are!
I think Jeremy Jordan did very well, but Groff would have made a stupendous Jamie as well! If they do a revival of it on Broadway any time soon, I'd like to see either Groff or Ben Platt as Jamie.
He's good, but he didn't hit all the high notes, and I think he used a bit too much vibrato? I dunno, maybe I'm biased. Jordan will always be my favorite.
