True sneaker heads know that Jordan rocked mids at the beginning of it all. During the original banned issue with NBA, Tinker made highs and mids for him. All the hype of highs over mids just occurred a couple of years ago. You can never go wrong with an OG mid colorway any day.

I agree. When I was asking around to my friends about this shoes - because I honestly don’t know much about sneakers. They all said it was a waste of money, and that I should just save up and get the highs. I didn’t really understand what’s the big deal about highs vs mids, other than the resale value. So after talking with my best friend, he said I should definitely buy them, because of the price, and because they are breds. Then, after doing some research, I found that pretty much any version of the banned Jordan 1, increases in value one way or another. Even those shitty ones that came with that weird leather. To be honest, if I would’ve bought them when I first saw them on goat (Friday night) I would’ve saved $10 😂😂😂 but the fact that in less than 24h they went from $170 to $180 (price I paid), and now, in some sizes $200, tells me that this pair is gonna go up for sure.

A lot of people didn't know MJ wore mids rather than highs when playing, but because of high profile people wearing highs, nike made highs more premium. If jordan makes premium mids, they will definitely sell out than highs. I don't like the highs as it hurts the high part and side of my ankle, hence I'd rather go for mids or lows, sadly, the quality is not better than highs.

If you like it, wear it. Personally, I don't really like the look of the lows and I don't find the high tops as comfortable as the mids. Wear what you like.

Fun fact: all jordan 1s were made like mids in the early 2000s and no one batted a eye. It wasn’t until they started making og highs that people started trashing mids.

@@Billycar1130 I apologize for calling you a dumbass, that was uncalled for. Mids started production in 2001. OG highs were getting made by 1994, Japan being one of the places to really receive Jordan 1 High OG. Jordan wore Mids because he had a fractured foot, and the Highs were a issue.

Just wear shoes if you like them. Be true to yourself. Don’t let super popular sneakertubers influence your decision. In reality, no one cares what you wear. It’s just in your head. I wore the banned mids, they’re nice cause I like them. It’s a great alternative for younger people like who dont want to spend 1000 dollars

*APOLOGY ACCEPTED* & Subscribed. -You were right about the mids being more accessible to people new to the sneaker world, I myself got mids as my first J1 shoes but it also started my obsession to collect Highs now. Owning mids does not mean 100% that you can't afford to buy Highs, its just harder for regular people to cop them for retail because of bots. Quality on both the Mids and the Highs are obviously a little different, but in terms of the cushioning you get from the Midsole, it basically just the same feeling. Nonetheless it still functions as a Jordan 1.

Bro, new subscriber here hope you're well! I'm actually happy with this 2020 version of this Air Jordan 1 Banned. A lot of RU-vidrs are comparing the 2020 Banned AJ's 1 to its previous AJ's Banned shoes like the ones MJ wore on the dunk comp. However, it should be compared to the banned AJ's Nike Air Ship shoes and the Banned AJ's in the dunk comp - amalgamated. The Nike Air Ship is actually the actual "Air Jordan" Banned shoes. MJ had to wear it even though it wasn't complying with the NBA rules because the Air Jordan 1 at the time wasn't ready and still in production. That's why Nike coughed up and paid the fines.

So firstly I don’t hate mids. I have a few pairs and love them. I grabbed both the Chicago mids and these too. I do however think that jordan brand could do more for us by releasing more pairs of the banned and OG Chicagos. They make mids instead and give us some highs that aren’t that great. I’d rather they cool it on the mids and just make more pairs of the highs.
