What a hypocrite. Will Jordan take Palestinian refugees, even temporarily, given they have such a huge Palestinian community already? This could help calm the conflict and even make a final settlement easier. But, no. Will Jordan help out by offering to discuss what it would accept in exchange for offering a small swathe of its unused land masses into the mix in order to to make the creation of a Palestinian state more viable, and so to provide an impetus for the sides to come back to the table with new facts that could greatly ease any negotiations? No. Does Jordan benefit from being able to castigate Israel as their Queen is doing here at every opportunity and so enjoy having a consistently successful method that’s always on call to divert attention from internal issues? Yes. I’m sure they didn’t lose the West Bank to Israel after their attack in the 6 day war on purpose- but, if they had done, it would have been genius.
