@@MWayne-zz1cr - I was 100% with Jordan’s caddie who tried to talk him out of that one. That was just plain dumb. He put his whole career, and possibly his life on the line for one golf shot. If he had slipped or the ground under him had given way…just not smart which is so not like Jordan.
Well, he didn’t really. But every fall can be fatal, and had he have tripped and tumbled a bit he could easily break his neck on one of the uneven pieces.
I’d have loved that. Jordan Spieth is a whiner and a loudmouth. He talks after every shot. He’d be annoying to play with. He loves the camera attention. This theatrical, dramatic run down the slope near the lake was probably over-exaggerated to make the shot look even more ridiculous.
Yes 1 par definitely makes you feel like you accomplished something great out there. I was lucky enough to grow up in Kohler and got to play both Whistling Straits courses many times as a kid they are not easy
@@Teddy-kv5ns Ya literally it would’ve gone backwards. We used to have a hill near a practice green like that at a course I worked at. You could hit them up over your head and on the green if you opened up a 60
It looked like the ball was sitting on top of some of the grass which made it easier to get the open-faced wedge under the ball. I think the bigger challenge was not selling out on the shot enough to completely fall on his right side with the swing.
Imagine he lost his balance just a second earlier than he did? That would have been utter embarrassment, especially if he went all the back into the lake.
Controversial view perhaps but IMO the luckiest wedge shot. A good result was just hitting the ball and the outcome was simply fortunate. (Could have gone anywhere) Not saying that was easy by any stretch but it was a hit and hope.
Good comment. Not falling on his face took more skill than hitting and hoping. Cool video though. Bill haas wedge shot or a crazy Phil Mickelson flop is far more impressive.
You guys are both dumb downplaying his shot just because the title says “best ever” if you have played whistling straits you understand how crazy this shot was in real life, it was not just a lucky hit
It was a really good shot... But honestly any pro COULD have pulled it off. Probably not the best wedge shot he's ever hit. Not falling on his face was the impressive part.
@@terdfergeson23 Jordan is a great golfer. Do you think he would say that was his best shot of the season? May have been his best shot of the tourney, can't say anything beyond that.
Spieth played alright that round, definitely not his best, I remember after the round we where talking and he said "ah, man I've just got this weight on my mind, can't shake it... no, no...", I said "Jordie, You played well, a couple missed shots a doozie, no one bothered about a couple doozie missed shots" he had a good laugh and we whipped into McD's (free water, on the house).
