How much does everyone want to bet that from this day forth Joe Rogan will claim tooth and nail that Ben's stoppage against Robbie was a horrible call? Any takers?
the fact that he admitted it is actually pretty cool. herb was being safe, which is cool, but robbie got robbed. it was NOT a blood choke, which is the only choke that can sleep someone quick. takes 6 seconds for a full blood choke to "sleep" and the bulldog choke is not a solid blood choke. a throat choke takes more like 30 seconds. the bulldog choke is really a pain compliance move, it can mess up your neck and mess up your jaw. unlikely to actually sleep you.
It still astounds me how many times Masvidal blatantly and repeatedly stated he was going to knee Askren in the face, and they all whooshed over his head. The knee itself didn't, anyway.
@pop loroganol hes a shit talker who thinks hes better than all of his opponents. He thinks all of his competition is inferior to him. And that's just not true. He got lucky against Lawler and Masvadal made him look like a clumsy bitch. Hes not athletic at all.
Exactly. Asking a ref "what are you doing?!" Red flags me that you weren't there..... Plus find another video of this limp arm miracle. How come no one can show one? Pro or am no one can show one instant of the limp arm
It is good that Joe is open mined and open to alternative viewpoints that challenges his opinions. I see nothing bad about changing his stance on an issue when new evidence becomes available. Most of you are probably too close minded and set in your thinking to be open to anything else.
BHNINJA81 hard not to. This episode was the only one i’ve ever seen of Joes. Masvidal is very likable guy if you’re real, honest and down to earth. the people talking shit about him have some personal issues and insecurities with themselves. cause jorge is wise, respectful, humble, funny and seems very genuine and honest.
I think some people dont realize how dangerous the bulldog choke is, especially when you have a guy like Ben askren doing it. You guys should be thanking herb for stopping it and not complain because by the time Ben's arm would have gave out, robbies head would be mush. That was a legitimate win over a former champ
New found respect for the no trash talk. Props my dude. I lived in florida at the time u were bare knuckle. Love and respect. Loudest noise comes from the emptiest drum. Stay humble, be happy, work hard. I count the man braver who conquers his own desires rather than his enemies, for the greatest battle is with yourself
He's right about the social media generation. Dude's pounding those keys over the internet, and then when you see them in the real, they aren't about that life.
2 years later Jorge Masvidal teams up Jake Paul... becoming an unlikable immature trash talker now... ducking Colby Covington... and everybody is rooting for Ben Askren now.
@SlayerPayback you are sad. It is good that Joe is open mined and open to alternative viewpoints that challenges his opinions. I see nothing bad about changing his stance on an issue when new evidence and thoughts becomes available. Most of you are probably too close minded and set in your beliefs about something to consider any alternative.
@Cee L stfu you little neek. He is the realist guy there is. Hes kind and humble but when you piss him off he will do something about it. Half the pussies in the world dont even have the balls to do that
@Cee L Same meaning really. It's to have a modest or low view of ones self. Non of us are really as important as we want to believe. Nor as smart. He is humble and he doesn't let anyone talk shit about him, he's respectful to those fighter who have been or are towards him. At the end of the day that demonstrates humility, mi amigo.
This is why I love masvidal, as a Samoan he’s a very likeable fighter to us Pacific Islanders because he has a trait we have embedded in our culture, no barking but straight up biting, we don’t trash talk but we will show you we mean business in or out of a cage
@@wax89 Joe laughs like that all the time. It's like that I'm so rich and famous champagne ass laugh he does. Changes his mind every time he changes guests.
Question is Masvidal only respond to others shit talking him first? And after putting the person in their place not continue with it? If so, he's got the moral high ground which counts for a lot. Askren's world class grappling and granite chin stylewise is horrific for Masvidal so I think it's likely Masvidal is not the victim of trash talking he's been giving it out in huge amounts as a coping mechanism for the horror than Askren is for him. If I was him I would strike at Askren's body.
Masvidal brought up a great point about young guys today thinking that its ok to talk mad shit without thinking of consequences. I'm an old school Marine and like to shoot pool in dive bars. Some young kid(21-23ish) was just talking mad shit to me as I shot. Not your normal trash talk, but just poking the bear, starting a fight shit talk. So I ask him what his problem is and he tells me to shut up and shoot. I put my pool cue down and face off with him and he freaks out and his buddy has to step between us. He smiles and says he's just having fun. He had no idea I was ready to step outside over it. It just seems like that's the ways kids are growing up these days. Being able to talk shit on their gaming headsets and troll on YT and FB, etc... Especially when mistake my grey hair as weakness. Can't wait to see Askren vs Masvidal. My moneys on Ben, but I fucking love Masvidals spirit. I see Ben as the next champ and Woodley all of a sudden saying, "it's all business" and wanting to fight him ASAP.
Its a fine line b/w "standing up for yourself", and being an egomaniac that seeks confrontation. The costs of making an error in judgement are too great to let ego and immaturity dictate our actions.
It is good that Joe is open mined and open to alternative viewpoints that challenges his opinions. I see nothing bad about changing his stance on an issue when new evidence and thoughts becomes available. It is bad to be close minded and set in your beliefs about something to consider any alternative for fear of being a flip flopper. Often times there is no right answer on something despite people thinking there is.
F*cking idiot. Oh what's he supposed to do? Hold firm to his opinions when he's presented with new data? That's what's wrong with you people. You're so married to your gotdamn opinions, you just wanna be right. You can't process the idea of a guy who's willing to admit he's wrong and adapt a new perspective.
I love you Masvidal you're a Gangster. But Ben is just a monster on the ground. If you don't tee off and land a vicious combo on his chin before he shoots or goes for the clinch then idk. As soon as I see Askren grab a limb ima think the fights over lol EDIT This mothafuckah said "fast forward to when I was 14." LMFAO what??? haha
Still annoyed when people say Max Holloway or Jose Aldo are the best 145 pounders ever when they were both beat by Conor. Not to mention Aldo went out in 13 seconds. Come on now!
Aldo dominated a division full of savages at that weight. McGregor KO'd him well into the twilight of his career when he was past his peak. Look at Aldo's results in the lead up to that fight. All decisions compared to the KO's from his early career.
