@@rafaelpenaloza9304 You say that like you even have 3 under your belt or know someone who has.... Im sure its FAR more impressive than anything you have done.... You are a hater
If Ben practiced his striking early on in his career he would've been a force to be reckoned with. His wrestle was so advanced that he could take out all rounders just by relying on that alone. If he practiced striking on top of his advanced wrestling ability he would've been a beast in the mma community. Jorge said it better himself. He got too comfortable with the fact that he went 19-0 relying only on his wrestling which made him overconfident.
Well maybe, but if he'd been spending 50 of his effort for ten plus years working his striking, his wrestling wouldn't have been as effective; plus look at Khabib- you can believe that guy worked on his striking ALOT, but it still was average and never played a big role in his wins (yes he knocked down Conor, but he would've won that fight off grappling alone).
Well if he did then it would’ve been 50 percent effort on wrestling and 50 on striking so his wrestling might not have been as effective as it was. But it would’ve been cool to see that version of askren vs khabib
It makes his MMA career even more impressive. Imagine going into a fight against dangerous opposition knowing you can’t compete on the feet - you’ve got to be brave in reality.
Askren: “There’s no way he knocks me out with a three piece and a soda he’s gonna need the family meal” Masvidal didn’t even have to give him the kids meal
It wasn't even the kids' meal. It wasn't even a nugget. He was just starting to peel the top off the bbq sauce cup and he was done from that first little splatter of bbq sauce when you break the vacuum of the seal.
@@lakeshoresubtleties if too little right hands was a 3pc and a soda, a flying knee and a whole bunch of bombs after that is certainly the family feast.
@@MrSagarcool14 how is it sarcasm he’s saying that his shitty physique is good performance probably just because he could wrestle until he got a flying knee to his mouth
@@KRoyski i don't think he would've dude. Can u not see the difference between the explosiveness of askren, masvidal and usman? Askren has no explosive power in his movements. Just look at his fight with maia. He couldn't keep Maia under control for more than 20-30 seconds whenever they went to the floor. Did Ben once have some explosiveness with his grappling? Yes. But he's just not the same fighter pre-retirement.
I had just taken a big swig of water when the fight started.. I spilled it all on my chest. One of the true jaw dropping moments of my life, CRAZY finish!
Well after seeing him vs jake we know he just gotta glass chin 9 outta 10 times he ends up on a highlight reel 😂😂 Jorge fighting top 5 guys and Ben playing wit frisbees ik y’all so mad
@@abdirahmanidris290 naw was over the hill till then lucky knee on ben agree was way past his prime. Lets not forget nate with a doc stoppage lol he was wooping
Wish Masvidals dememor was like this when he fought and leading up Usmsn! Nonetheless, this was one the best (if not the best) lead up and finishes in MMA history
i love ben but his downfall started when he said "hey dana is that all you got?".... he then proceeded to lose 2 fights in a row and get ko'd by jake paul
The man was retired for over a year, had a f*cked up hip and gets hit with a 1 in a billion shot and all of his greatness has been forgotten. It's crazy how shortsighted people are.
Askren is arguably one of the best wrestlers of his generation. They call him “funky”, because he’s done moves in wrestling that has just baffled anyone watching. He has also had one of the most successful wrestling careers anyone could ever ask for. If Ben would’ve entered the UFC early on, then he’d have been very successful. Problem is that Ben and Dana White have always hated each other for some reason. This fight definitely doesn’t define or even really represent how great Bens wrestling and fighting career actually was.
I still give askren his respect, literally everyone sees the knockout as defining his whole career which is funny I kind of agree with it at this point, but some people especially new UFC fans dont see that he was literally undefeated lmao
@@gage8787 You're clearly a fucking casual. So many of you guys around lately. UFC fights aren't the only thing that matters. There's ton of talent in other organizations. Do everybody a favor and don't comment on MMA until you learn a bit more.
2 things that I really like about Ben he was so open minded to the idea of being able to take a big shot. And he's entrance song, with that song you never lose Ben.
@Toronto 416 what about the Robbie and Maia fight? He got messed up in those too then retired. I think he knew better than everyone else that he was a hype train but he cashed out before the gig was up.
He’s a great fighter just one mess up and you’re out if he just had a little patience and successfully grabbed Jorge it would’ve been another win for Askren
