I get you. Try alan watts. He blew my mind and I still feel kind of weird but it's not so bad. Let go, let things happen because everything happens regardless so just let go and you'll be at peace. The storm quiets and sometimes it rages but it's nice. I used to say we're all going to make it somehow someway but I was wrong because we're already it, whatever it is.

@@MordekaiserIsOP Normally it's never people who actually have a diagnosed depression who blame their shortcomings on it. You could literally be having the best day of your life and then a switch flips and you lose all motivation. You start questioning if there's any reason to care anymore or if life is just pointless. Depression isn't a "woe is me" illness. It's often something you never want anyone else to know about, even if the people around you could help you.

@@ryan43816 Yeah, my only hope is that it doesn't overwhelm him and he nukes his channel instead of releasing the unfinished video. Joe seems like the kinda guy who would just let YT die and focus on streaming while he writes a new book on the side.

He said before that he likes to edit a part, then watch it a week later then see how it fits with the rest, then listen to everything over again then take another week to listen to everything and see how it fits, it just takes a while because the video has 11 hours. I think Mandy (mandaloregaming), the owl RU-vidr from the Please Stop Talking Podcast and lilly often help Joe with feedback too if I recall correctly

@@Jujudocine For the most part, Joe and I don't really "agree" on much. He thought "The Last of Us" was amazing, and I was like, "the dialogue between Ellie and Joel is basically the only good part of the game, the rest is utter dog crap, even for the time it was released". But, since we don't really agree, I rather enjoy his "take" on things. He's got a far different perspective most of the time. Like, he did this huge review about Dark Souls and how he loves the challenge and I'm like, "what challenge? The idiotic self-imposed one most players engage in? If you play it like a normal gamer, it's basically easy-mode all the way through, as you utilize every resource the game gives you and quickly overpower the games... where the biggest threat and most deaths you'll ever have are falling off cliffs". But, I mean, that's his take. He likes to artificially increase difficulty on himself. You need only look at his review of Breath of the Wild to see that. I conquered most of that game using stasis and bombs, even killing all Lynels like that... but he was like trying to murder them with weapons and skill. I was like, "bombs bypass defense and do static damage... why would you ever use weapons that break?". But, that's Joe. He just plays differently.

@@XxTaiMTxX Self imposed challenge still counts as challenge. How is it idiotic to play with restraints if like you say, playing a game as a gamer or meta gaming makes even a game like dark souls “basically easy-mode”?

@@AntiChris84 I'm sorry the fact that the game is easy renders your own accomplishments in Dark Souls "moot" just because you chose a method of play that made it more difficult for you. That's a "you" problem. The games are highly accessible, anyone can beat them, and can beat any and every boss without issue, if they choose to. But, some players have such fragile egos that they think these games are "hard" because they weren't smart enough to play very well. You also don't have to "meta game" to find Dark Souls easy. The game allows you to use summons, it allows you to used ranged attacked, it allows you to level up over the content you're fighting. The only way a person has difficulty is to basically ignore half the systems the game provides. It takes all of five minutes of gameplay to realize that the most effective strategy in even melee combat is to "dodge roll" as it grants iFrames and using shields and parries is "too risky" as there are things that CAN'T be blocked OR parried, but pretty much everything can be dodged. Dark Souls is only "Hard" for the players imposing challenge on themselves or who are too stupid to engage with the systems the game actually teaches you about. Heck, you don't even have to learn "movesets" most of the time. If you CHOOSE to play that way for the challenge of it, that's fine. But, they aren't "difficult" games in the slightest. They're acturally pretty "average" in terms of difficulty. Provided you aren't intentionally gimping yourself just to prove you can win by being gimped. You'll have to leave your ego at the door, my friend. If YOUR TIME with the Dark Souls series was "it's a hard game", then it's because you played under par. Your gameplay was below mediocre. Or, it's because you deliberately gimped yourself. Any normal person playing the game who spends 10-50 minutes experimenting with the mechanics they are taught in the opening section immediately understands how "easy" the game actually is. That the only real challenge lies in being a stubborn player and refusing to engage with the baseline systems.

Joseph talked about this before in his patreon video. He said he doesn’t do weekly short videos because it takes too long to put it everything out. He gave an example too so I recommend watching the video (it’s short like 13 minutes). The Lion, The Witcher, The Patreon it’s called. But anyway his videos would take way longer if he had a short release schedule rather than all at once. Plus his long videos are separated in chunks so average watchers can watch at their own pace anyway

Part of the struggle is, I assume, a desire to create an artistically completed work. Something along the lines of, "This is the most definitive analysis I can make." If you get a new idea or concept part way through, you often have to accommodate for it and restructure every other section of a work to make the presentation as effective as is feasible. Considering that he has extremely high long term viewership for several videos (estimates in the millions), he's been reasonably deliberate in releasing new content that represents both himself as a creator and his brand.

What do you mean? He's been working at over a full-time rate for this entire time, he's not just given up. Why are you so angry about one guy just trying to live a fulfilling life, at no cost to anyone else's? People voluntarily give him money because they feel he deserves it for the quality of his content, not out of pity. He hasn't misled anyone, and has consistently told patrons that they shouldn't feel any guilt about cancelling whenever he delays a video release. The video is coming along very well, and will be released by February, at over 9 hours long.

It really isn't up to you to decide whether it's worth it or not. The people giving him money know exactly the kind of content he makes and if they like it enough to support him that's all there is to it.

It's worth all the waiting that you personally are willing to do. In my opinion his content is actually really good and valuable. Maybe not 2 1/2 years of wait time "worth" necessarily, but I'm sure it will be a good and memorable video regardless. As for people supporting him, you are assuming they are doing it mainly (or only) for his YT videos, but who knows, perhaps they just like to support him personally, or they like his writing or his streams or whatever else.

Do you prefer NOT being given information and context? Because that's what will end up being the case if whatever explanations and heads ups people are giving is met with nothing but blame and accusations.
