This song is clearly about divorse and how the couple's children feel, how it affects them and how their parents' fights changes them. Divorsed parents often look to their children and don't understand why they've became different, however they never "look at themselves" and wonder how their kid felt listening and witnessing the fights and arguments over all the years. I love this song.

Not only John. John made a lot, but always together. Yes he was the driving force, but never forget Flea, Anthony and Chad. Without them - he would never been where he is now. Josh is doing a great job. Really - I saw them a week ago - he rocked the shit out of every song.
The Rhcp owe him much more than the other way around. Without him he would have been ostracized while John shit on them and your obsessed and unfair fans. He gave himself even more than the founders deserved. He is where he is now because of HIS merit, and his talent. Josh owes it to Bob Forrest, he who discovered it.

Renzo Boswijk Josh’s two albums with the chilis were awesome!!! Most of the ‘purists’ couldn’t tell a strat from a Les Paul, let alone play one. The intro and outro on Longest Wave is something John will play a bit shitter than josh... think about them onions 🤔
Well of course it will change. There was a magic about the way Hillel played that they'll never get back. Josh brings a whole new dynamic, and a whole lot of energy to the band. Everyone expected Josh to be John, but he's not, he's Josh, and he knows that and I think there's a different sort of magic happening now
This song makes things OK for me. I'm dealing with my past at the moment, and people can be cold, but this reminds me of the people who are warm, and are there. It makes me happy which is a rare thing these days. Josh's voice, and talent for music are far beyond hitting the right notes and playing the right tune, you can hear soul in his music, just like John's but Josh is different enough for me to enjoy, i love both. And life is getting better a day at a time. And a song at a time.

I love both Josh and John. I think John is a bit better of a fit, but Josh is amazing too! And he can play all of the old songs just as good! And he adds his own twists too. He's got an amazing voice, as did John. And we can enjoy John's solo music even more now. I just wish people could be happy. It's not Josh's fault John left, it's John's. Don't be mad- be happy the Chilis still exist, and that John quit, and didn't die. Be happy! =)

@chucktaylor176 Yes I have bought this song off the benefit cd through iTunes, I have it on my iPod and on my phone. It is the only song I have bought off that cd and apparently $1 goes towards the Rebuild Haiti Fund. I am happy it goes to a good cause. :) I am definitely looking forward to the Dot Hacker album too. :)
@jofangirvan yes I'd like to know too. I looked at the video for the original version (Thelonious Monster) and I think the chords for that are F#, D#m, B, C# but you'd have to work out the rhythm yourself.

@simondeneuki It's not RHCP style because it's Thelonious Monster song. He did it as a favor to his personal friend, Bon Forrest, who was frontmen of Thelonious Monster. He and Bob Forrest were asocieted throgh the bycicle thief.

@Cracksrolls I suppose it's natural they'd be compared since they've both been employed as RHCP guitarists, but I know what you mean. It's important to view Josh's music for what it is instead of comparing him to John. I think they are both great and I'd like to see them do another album together.
