I'm suprised that there isn't a cookie calendar in Finland because we have so long cookie selves in stores! I think that Domino could do one because they have so many different flavours these days!

I just remembered one of my childhood calendars! It was santa claus shaped cardboard calendar and there was little string in it, when you pulled it the santa moved his feet and hands! 😍 Surprises were soft stickers.

My mom used to make us a kids calendars from tea bag wrappers and we would find exciting stuff like gum and small pictures from them :D. Always wanted a chocolate calendar instead but now I've grown to appreciate her effords!

I got a tea calendar from pukka as an early birthday present, so that will be the one for this Christmas season. I find it funny how Finns drink the most coffee of the entire world and here I am being a Finn but only drinking tea due to being way too sensitive to the caffeine. 😅😝

Kinder chocolate is underrated IMO. It may not be "high quality" in that connoisseur kind of way, but I don't care. I only care that it tastes good 🤤

My son (already 18 years of age) loves those cheapest plain old fashion chocolate calendars. Last year he ate like 15 of them before 24th day LOL! You missed one important calendar from the taste test, The Fazer Bars Christmas Calendar. I think I'll get that for myself this year.

I've kinda lost my interest for commercial calendars, well, commercial... So I bought this christmas calendar that has numbered cotton pouches. It's kinda like wall rug. But the thing that intrigues me most is that you can put anything there. I mean chocolates of course, but there's few bigger pockets that can fit a beer... etc. :)

Kinder MaxiMix(the house-shaped one) is my go-to if I don't go for the "cheapo kids calendar". You get perfect mix of most Kinder mainline products, including the Eggs.

I had last year aftereight Big Ben -calendar. They sell it this year too. If you go for aesthetics, that's totally cutest one around 🙂 Out of the ones in the video, I would be interested of the Lind one most, I think. That's awesome chocolate, even if it's not the cheapest out there. Also Kinder one is nice and more Christmasy than just pure advertisement (which cannot be said from all calendars out there...)

As it is somewhere around 4 decades since I was a child of the age to have an advent calendar (bought by parents as a "usual" xmas thing), my memories might be dusty, and I do not have experience of what kinds of calendars there are available today. So the basic calendar was perhaps one that has just pictures behind the doors, and that is OK. But I think the candy calendars were never really much more exciting. I mean you can just get the candies at a store any day of the year your parents allow it. BUT I remember there were a couple of really interesting ones that I had. One had some kind of miniature "sculptures" made of glass that were all unique and quite intricate. Another one had the "good old" Kinder-type surprises that were usually small plastic "puzzles" that you had to assemble. I say "good old" because at some point the Kinder egg surprises seemed to all have changed to be just stupid character models of some cartoon franchise or other, no assembly, no fun. So in my childhood there were at least three types of advent calendars: the plain pictures-only, the chocolate/candy ones and the more interesting items/puzzles ones :)

The thing with having grown up with these cheaper 2-euro calendars is that nowadays about 95% of all calendars just feel so miserable with no pictures under the chocolate part.Sure you get a nice chocolate but then it's just a blank hole/cardboard wall you see after you leave the calendar door open. Why won't they add pictures. :'D At least Marabou had the chocolates in different shapes, got that this year.

Maybe try every Christmas a different chocolate calender and after Christmas month you give the rating after tasting one christmas door every day while waiting Christmas Eve? 😊🎄 Though that way you give away what the other doors have to the viewers so maybe this way is better after all. 🤔

I got really excited about the white chocolate one since it is the only chocolate type my stomach tolerates. But plain white chocolate is bleghhh but if there are nuts or salmiakki in it it is a treat. :)

Thankfully I didn´t get that fruit muumi calendar to my kid. I got her the nostalgic story book calendar which has only little books in it. My daughter loves books, so that is perfect for her and she is so young she shouldn´t be eating choholate too much. Thankfully there is where to choose from. :)

There's ice cream advent calenders too. Haven't seen those before. Over 20€ though, so I'm probably not going to try it eventhough it's a Finnish brand (can't remember who's it is, you can get them from Prisma though).

I didn't end up buying a calendar last year😕 The year before I had the Halva salmiakki one😋 Delicious. We used to get 2-4 cheap chocolate calendars "per nenä" as kids, from mom, and dad, and sometimes either of the grandmas or a "kummi". Someone always got a different calendar for the others' envy, lika a Kinder or a candy calendar. I don't mind The Calendar Chocolate, but wouldn't buy it for myself... I remember sometimes the chocolates were a different shape than the pic in the cheap calendars😂 We compared their orders to figure out which calendars had the same pic backing, the same choc shape plastic, was there a correct backing for these "wrong" choc shapes and vice versa😆😁 Sometimes there was just one particular shape that was the same idea (like a santa or a bell) but the backing pic was slightly different (just a head vs whole body, 2 bells vs 1)... For this year, I'm intrigued by the Lindt you tried, and different Fazers, or maybe a tea calendar🤔🤔🤔 Or maybe I'll make my own, I had a felt pouch calendar (might have gotten lost though). The price would certainly be a lot better in a DIY calendar😆
