I can’t imagine how tiring it is for Arnel to sing a lot of journey songs the entire concert one city after another. He survive for almost 15yrs now.Amazing frontman.
As I have watched before , RRHF will recognize you if your 25 years in music and with your own composed music , jonathan was very disappointed too without arnel's name on RRHF ,after their performance on that he never take a vow , while all the group does , it shows how jonathan was disapoited with RRHF...
why are people hating on him? he didn't ask to replace Steve Perry. he was sought after and hired on to do a job nobody else could do and Steve didn't want to go back. so just like anyone, if you're paid to do a job, you better do your damn best..and that's exactly what he did. Arnel is fuckin awesome! stop hating on the guy. He's just doing his job. plus he is Steve Perry's biggest fan.
Arnel Pineda blows me away. It is not right to compare Arnel with Steve Perry. Steve left Journey and now Arnel is with the band and kicking some serious ass.
because they dont look like them and they want perry back. The guy just happens to be amazing but he is brown, short, etc. Journey and Arnel both hit the lottery.
You know why these die hard perry fans are angry with Arnel? Its because they cant accept the fact that someone can step up and sing journey songs not only like steve perry but can actually do it better and deep inside their mind they know it true
@Daniel Malack He is not needed to write a song for Journey because the decision is not allowed for him. Come to the Philippines, and learn our language, then hear our local songs how beautifully arrange with wisdom and twist not nonsense.
Arnel is not better than Steve Perry. Go check out sales history of Journey's discography. Journey only had best numbers of album sales in SP's era. Journey tried the same rock ballad formula in Revelation album (2008) when they first recruited Arnel. But it only reached 25% of album's sales in SP'S era. Eclipse (2011) was an embarrassing failure. For over 10 years, Arnel has not a single hit song comparable to SP's classic hits. Now, Journey only hires Arnel as a karaoke singer to reminisce SP's era. That's the hardcore truth with statistics, no matter how many Arnel's Filipino fans say otherwise.
@@marshawk9766 He collaborated on 2 or 3 songs. People will never be happy either way, saying their recent albums flopped. But for real musicians and music lovers, it is the music that matters, not its commercial success. Their most recent album is underrated but was lauded critically. It was experimental and not the usual Journey music that their old fans used to love.

The talent and skill of Arnel is enough why he chosed, in fact Arnel voice is so strong, power and amazing coming from the culture style of Filipino singing. The problem today is racist, some do not want Arnel simply because he is an Asian.
I don't know how anyone can dislike this guy! But the sad fact is that some hard core Journey fans do! Arnel is immensely talented and humble guy who even Steve Perry loves! Get over it haters!

It's tough seeing incredible singers lose their abilities that were so innately them during their prime. It's the nature of aging and unfortunately your voice changes over time. I love that Arnel can keep the Journey legacy going and do the band justice. So nice to hear these songs again in real-time.
13 years later, he is still with the band. Watch the movie, Dont Stop Believin': Everymans Journey. He wasnt just got invited and got the gig. He was flown in, auditioned, grilled, and the whole team will then decide if he gets the gig or not. They recorded a new album too and toured with that. It went Platinum. Arnel was okay just to get the autographs from his idols and go home. But the whole team decided, he got the gig. Longest running vocalist of Journey so far! I love Steve Perry, nobody can ever replace him, he has moved on so I'm moving on too and just enjoy the music.

One thing I am proud of live performers is that we never go lypsyncing no matter how tired we are and how difficult the songs are. I never heard or seen Arnel lypsyncing. The guy still rock

I’m 28 years old, this is my fathers music that influenced me the most and year after years made me realized how old songs like this are just damn great!!! My dream is to at least be on one of Journey’s concert watching live. 🙏
If the song is really good and touches your hearts and souls, then I think the song has a chance to last for a very long time. Somehow, someway, someone else would bring the song back alive from the dead. If not Steve Perry or Arnel Pineda, Someone will. That's the power of the music. It speaks and rest your soul.

I hope that was the intent. I doubt that he would have drank it anyways. Most singers have their own special concoction that they like to drink for singing.
People forget tbat tbis is performed live and the fact that this is not an official video released by the journey but still the performance was superb.

Going to see them in Oct in Niagara Falls, cant wait. Got 2nd row almost center , all rest were sold out. The couple here is annoying with their selfies, but I thank then for uploading this....great video despite the selfie crap. Looking forward to this concert big time. I have seen other bands this year, but looking forward the most to Journey in Oct! Arnel is a showman that is for sure, he has a lot of energy and massive stage presence!
Arnel Pineda was naturally born to sound like Steve's! It's not his fault that Steve was born and got on the spotlight earlier, Let's just say that destiny made it's way for us to experience the greatness of vocals with these two. I hope everyone accepts that!
He can recreate the magic that the rest of the band and the fans are looking for...that's it! Cry and whine all you want SP fans but he's gone for good. He's been in the band longer than any journey lead vocalists.

By the way, Singing a song that you have nothing to do with it. Never write a word or single note on the song. Is pretty impressive. Doing it night after night. Wow! Because It's pretty easy to lose yourself in the moment and forget the lyrics and he got not only one but maybe 25 songs to sing in one night.
