Una particular formación en el Show del Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar 2008 tuvo la banda de rock norteamericana JOURNEY con el vocalista Arnel Pineda.
Efectivamente, el cantante filipino fue incorporado a la banda JOURNEY, siendo su primera presentación oficial con JOURNEY el 21 de febrero del 2008 en el Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar en Chile con una transmisión televisiva en conjunto para 80 países y en vivo por señales locales, de cable y el afamado canal A&E. El filipino Arnel Pineda derrochó energía y logró cautivar a todo el público con su voz muy parecida a la de Steve Perry y su gran presencia escénica, rejuveneciendo a la banda y dejando en segundo plano su carácter de absoluto novato. los vi en vivo y en directo y realmente *el filipino Arnel pineda* *muy buena voz* , *nada* que *envidiarle* a *Steve Perry* recuerdo que tenía 16 años cuando los vi y desde ahí nunca más deje de escucharlos fue una noche magica

WOW !! Considering that it was Arnel Pineda's first LIVE Concert with Journey --- he performed amazingly well !! AP has that awesome tenor pitch-perfect voice-- that when he sings ballads-- he sings with soul and emotions, and when he rocks, the whole crowd rocks with him--what an incredible performer !! I already saw him on many LIVE Tour Concerts and he usually gives a phenomenal show !! Journey band is lucky to have found him as frontman for Journey !! BTW--- it is already the year 2022 of my commenting..and it is already the 15th year of Arnel Pineda as frontman ( from 2007--2022 and counting ) Bravo Arnel.. Journey rocks !!

His FIRST LIVE Journey concert. Arnel just nailed this show. I mean FIRST concert in front of 25,000 live and millions in South America on TV concert live. For NO experience on the big stage, pretty damn good I must say.

Omg Journey fans, if you haven't seen the Dont Stop Believing documentary about Arnel you NEED to watch it. It is FANTASTIC and covers some cool behind the scenes facts and interviews about this FIRST live performance of Arnel with Journey. So Good 👍

Man Imagine the series of concerts every year for 15 years is pretty amazing with his age and how he executed those powerful and hard notes/songs, he still perform and deliver the awesome entertainment for the crowds, is so impressive, Arnel still kickass

para los más fanáticos de la banda, obvio que nadie se compara con el vocalista original, creo que a todos los que tenemos una banda favorita no nos gusta que otra persona ocupe el lugar, Perry es la esencia... pero no le quiten créditos a Pineda, tiene una gran voz y carisma...

Simplemente no es lo mismo, Journey con Steve Perry era otra Banda , con Arnel o como se llame el camarada este simplemente no transmite , es una banda de rock and roll con un cantante de bar.....aunque el documental de cómo descubrieron a Arnel me gusto bastante ....dont hate :)

Arnel Pineda tiene una excelente voz, con un color parecido al de Steve Perry, amplio rango vocal, buena presencia escénica y algo muy importante es que logró que la banda siguiera con vida y ganara público joven y actual; hay que reconocer que gracias a su buen desempeño se liberó de tener que seguirse pareciendo a Steve y ahora puede mostrar su propio estilo; pero yo en particular me quedo con Journey de los 80 cuando su vocalista era Steve Perry. Fue Steve quien con su voz, su capacidad interpretativa, su exigencia vocal y la emocionalidad que transmitía, entre muchas otras características que todos sus seguidores conocemos, le dio la imagen a Journey y en equipo con los otros músicos que también tienen un alto nivel de calidad, logró posicionar la banda. De todas formas cada uno en su momento y en su estilo han sido excelentes .

I saw Journey at The Classic East in 2017 with Arnel, and he absolutely killed it! He’s phenomenal and sounds so close to Perry. He absolutely pours his heart into it and I think he does so much justice to the sound of the band. He’s perfect!

The passion he gives in the stage is impressive. May my impresion annoys, but the guy is greater (atleast live) than the original Perry´s sound. As you can hear the bass and guitar played at his voice lead and not viceversa, great performance. Perry love you anywhere you are.... My love, but this guy ..... you can be proud.... blessings

Hearing this song takes me back to the story that the band told of a young boy was a big fan, 16 years old and diagnosed with a terminal illness. After listening to this song, he passed away.
