Augeri is the man that brought back journey in the lime light for almost 10 years he kept going until his voice gave out he does not get the respect he deserves.
Got to see Journey with Him in 2002. It was an outdoor concert in Joplin, Mo I was V.I.P. and was 3rd row center. I walked up to the stage and stood there while they played and Open Arms made Me Cry. He handed Me a tissue. I'm a Woman who was in awww at that time. I just lost My Granddaddy He didn't know but asked why I cried later and I told Him and all I can say is Thank You once again Steve Augeri ❣️
i saw them last summer in clarkston michigan and im sorry but arnel is awesome. he isnt either one of the steves but he sounds great on all of either ones songs. and guess what. im going to see them again this summer because they are still awesome with arnel.
Steve Augeri is the best singer you had to replace Perry...He has his own band now and is an amazing performer with a lot of class and very humble..When they closed the door, God opened another, bigger and better!!!!!
Steve Augeri really does sound a lot more like 'The Voice' than Arnell and much better than the Rolie, Fleischman and Soto. Damn....... Six lead singers and the only one who is really considered the true lead singer is always going to be Perry.

Steve Perry is a rarely found male singing voice called Tenor Altino (High Tenor, not a countertenor as mistakenly assigned). This is why there will never be another Steve Perry...and women who sing alto can sing Journey songs easily as well as Foolish Heart. Augeri isn't a natural "soul/gospel" singer and lacks that distinct vocal inflection that Steve, Elvis, Darryl Hall and Bobby Caldwell perfected. Hence he COULD have sang the songs as well as Perry but lacked the influence from old school soul music of the 50s and 60s ie Sam Cooke, Bobby Womack, Jackie Wilson, David Ruffin, Levi Stubbs etc.
First time I heard Steve Augri was today...I stopped listening to them when Steve Perry left. We all have our favorites ❤. But I grew up with Steve Perry and he's my 1 and only.
