I was a young kid when i heard this track on the Armageddon soundtrack for the first time. I was enamored. The guitar kept me listening from the beginning. the vocals, drums and guitar kept me listening to these amazing songs for the rest of my life. I’m now pushing 30, have a kid and life has been nothing less than ... a journey.
Huge huge huge thanks for uploading this!!!!!! This may be Virginia Beach ‘99! I knew a pro-shot from this gig existed but I couldn’t find, so I’ve been wanting for this for a long long time!!!!
I agree 100%. I loved Augeri. To bad his voice didn't hold up. He was super cool, great voice. I could not believe how good he sounded my first Journey show back after Perry. Steve did great. I saw Journey 3 times with Augeri, loved all 3 shows and so did the sold out crowd based on they're reaction.
@@bradcrawford1998 Thx, I have no chance to see them live in a show with the two Steve's. Only one time with Arnel Pineda in Augsburg/Germany. Also a great Concert.
Steve Augeri: Great Front Man! I just really loved this version of Journey. They were so versatile and hungry. I saw them just after they released Red 13. What a concert! Have seen them with Pineda and it's just a very different ensemble. I greatly prefer the Augeri era.
Neal Schon is such an underrated guitarist man...Damn what a beast he is...And i have to give kudos to Augeri for this song ..this one's pretty hard to sing !
I think every member of this band is underrated!!! Steve Smith was the original drummer and he's freaking killer, but Dean castronovo is so good. have u heard him sing mother and father and play?!?! it's freaking awesome man. Ross Valerie is a super solid bassist and a master. Jonathan kain is king :)
@Daniel Fryar that's pretty cool u know alot about journey! very cool. my mom dated Jonathan Cain in high school haha. still chats with him here and there
Notice how Augeri while doesn't have Perry's range .. still has the perfect tone to his voice , and has great stage presence . This is sadly what Arnel lacks ! and what Jeff Scott Soto lacked in terms of the right stage presence . Despite him being one hell of a singer .
This video is the only point of reference I have for this statement, but I have to question what stage presence you’re talking about. Maybe you’re confusing him with the microphone stand, which is clearly upstaging his presence by miles. The most he’s managing to throw in as far as movement is an Ashlee Simpson “oops my band played the wrong music” hoedown.
I thought Steve Augeri was really the best fill-in for Steve Perry. No one can sing like Steve P. In my opinion, but this Steve, was really really the closest.
I think they would have done much better if they went out under a new name with Steve Augerie just like Creed did with Alterbridge. People could relate to the new music without expecting to hear them try to sound like Journey. Not only that, the Journey songs wretched his voice. I love the Augerie era songs I can see a whole concert with just those 3 albums.
@@richardhendrix3177 Fellow collectors, I would just google shows I was interested in and find someone with the show who didn't yet have something that I could offer. Lately this has been dying because many full concerts are uploaded on youtube, making it harder to trade material.
At least that song made it on the Movie Soundtrack. Armageddon. There wasn't much. Nothing dine well with Arnel Pineda. Eclipse. Doing some of the old Journey songs with after all these years. City of hope. Just is not the original Journey. Steve was with the band long enough. Picked the right time to step down. Nobody fired Steve. Steve left on his own. He won't rejoin Journey. Steve has a new album out soon
is it me ... schon and cain are too egocentric to realize with augeri or jeff scott soto they could have re write journeys path for good? how do u dump 2 of the greatest and well rounded singers, and go 10 steps back to the past giving arnel an oportunity to not shine for who he is, but leaving his input remain as a steve perry copycat? thats cheating their fan base, their not the radical band we use to watch grow back then anymore, thats playing it safe and not moving on... is it me or when perry, augeri and jeff scott soto were out of journey the balls and magic were also gone with them 3?
