JOURNEY Separate Ways 2004 Live 

At the time, I was very skeptical. And after I saw Augieri with Journey in concert, I was pretty satisfied. He really helped get Journey back on the track at that time. Until the constant touring exhausted his vocie. Respect the guy.

You know someone is overworked when you can type Journey live 1999, Journey live 2000, Journey live 2001, etc etc, and concerts always come up.

They toured Steve Augeri into the ground. Non stop every year. No breaks from touring. 1998-2006. No wonder his vocal cords were totally shot. They used him like a pack mule at the Grand Canyon.

Journey is improving recently, audio, lights and the looks of each member is really good than the past

By this time Augeris voice was completely overworked and in need of serious rest...Imagine how much better it would have been taking it a full key down...They did for Arnel...Agerie would have felt so much better singing and give so much more to everything

Great quality video Sasachtawan. Thank you for downloading. For anyone that slams Steve Augeri you can kiss my ass! First of all nobody CAN REPLACE Steve Perry NOBODY. This video may have been towards the end of Mr. Augeris time with Journey. I saw him three times in St. Louis from 1999-the end of his run with Journey. He fuckin sounded AMAZING, had a cool stage presence about him and almost let Neal, Jon and Ross be in charge on stage which was fine. He was very genuine, not cocky AT ALL. I actually liked this Journey better than with Arnel. I mean I liked Arnel, saw him a couple times with Journey to, I just liked Augeri better. The first of the 3 STL shows was in a small 4,000 seat venue, only half full as many fans didn't want to go because it wasn't Perry and I get that, I almost didn't go to. I am so glad I did cause the crowd loved Augeri, he was excellent. I thought it was Steve Perry with a perm, he sounded so much like him. The next two shows were at the River Port Ampitheatre both shows sold out or very close to it and the fans went NUTS for the new Journey. I had front row seats for one of them which was AMAZING! I thought Arrival was a GREAT album to. Steve Augeri was a Huge piece of Journeys rebuilding years and carried the torch until Arnel came on board.

You can tell Steve Augeri's voice is starting to go. He stepped in and took over for a legend, but the constant grind of doing those songs, took it's toll on his voice. That concert they did in Vegas in 2001 when he was new to the band was epic. He tore it up.

What you're hearing here is a great singer with a naturally beautiful voice that was unfortunately overworked and run into the ground by that douche Neal Schon. This is unfortunately what's happened to every singer in Journey. Neal Schon (he is essentially Journey's manager so the blame should be cast on him) tours them to death without proper rest periods in between shows/tours, overworks them to the point where they can barely perform anymore and then he complains that their voices suck and quickly replaces them and starts the cycle again. And unfortunately Arnel is the next victim, look up any of their live shows in the last few years and compare them to their early show in Manila with him and you'll understand what I'm saying. It's no secret that Arnel has been struggling to perform for some time now due to the same thing that happened with Steve Perry and Steve Augeri, too much constant touring and performing without proper rest and breaks in between.

I am fan of Arnel and SP but this guy kick some ass too, but I truly understand because even me I have a 15 night straight show my voice fuck up...and I lose my voice in 1 month.

Sounds really strained! Should've been an indication to the band that a break is necessary in between tours!

I always thought Steve was great. I kind of thought he got a raw deal the way he was replaced. I understand that his voice needed a year off, but I thought they should should have let him come back after that.

So much respect for Steve Augeri but I think he should have had some practice and rest. Some lines he didn't sing.

They should have shut off Ross Valory’s mic, let Deen sing the song and tell the “lead” singer to go home and get his shine box. I’ve heard better audio at grammar school talent shows...

No offence but vocally speaking, Arnel is the best Perry's replacement for Journey.
