We’ve gone so far past the point of “good music” that we’re in a cesspool. I was a teen of the 90’s, and truly believe that grunge was the last of honest, good music that meant anything. Love these Journey pieces!
I totally agree with them. It’s like reading a book and them making a movie about the book. The book is always better! The Girl Can’t Help It is one of my favorite Journey songs, and videos, lol. They were best live! Such a fantastic musical chemistry, all the way back to Rollie.
So glad this band made a decision and stuck by it, so much has changed since this album it seems ridiculous now, but in that day having to what is being said as defending their decision got them more airtime than a video anyway..........well played guys!
The live videos if Journey captured their mass appeal and the essence of their live performances better than any concept video. To this day, people talk of the campy separate ways video. Sing phenomenal and video not so much but typical 80s. The band often fought against critics and the tides if other bands in giving into trends or the way some thought they should be as a band. Their instincts proved right in the legacy of their music still resonating today and as legends with a musical catalog to back up their decisions in The music created and their decisions on videos for Raised on Radio. MTV didn't make Journey, The chemistry of musicians in the band made journey musically.

As long as they kept blowing their most sincere fan's away... we'll see them in concert & listen to our album's! The biggest mistake ever made was letting my baby STEVIE (PERRY)go! I'm still a little pissed over how that was handled... ! But we loved them all just the same! But "NO ,STEVE PERRY"?!! C'mon...?!! Now that's scary!! There is "Another" act on Columbia that their music video director used Journey's live performance video of the crowd for the bands clip. Let me know if you have seen the clip
That makes sense doesn’t it to call an album after frontiers which is originally also I’m sure you know named new frontiers freedom like the song which I think is a B-side liberty and when you have a new frontiers crossover crossing over a Rubicon that you have freedom it’s brilliant! Now the question makess to be asked is the album and titled freedom contain an original album of recorded songs from then or are they new songs?
@@SamanthaGJones I apologize, yes, let me explain - Journey told a story with their album titles, that spans across many of their albums. Where that story stopped it's continuity in naming convention was 'Raised On Radio', which is a great title, but its not what would be after an album titled 'Frontiers'. So my response was of discovering this through this great Journey channel something I never knew that the album after 'Frontiers' was going to be entitled 'Freedom'. Freedom makes sense if you follow the story where after finding 'New Frontiers', which was going to be the original name for the song and I think the album, then FREEDOM makes sense because of a few other songs hinting at a next album story title and theme. Especially when there's a B-Side outtake song from Frontiers titled 'Liberty'. It's like a hint. The last song Rubicon also tells or sets up a new direction in that Journey story. Cool right! :-D
Because Journey was a live band first and foremost. Those dudes knew that they looked like fools for doing those three videos for the Frontiers album: Chain Reaction, After The Fall, and Separate Ways.
