Absolutely LOVED that album!! Brings back a lot of memories - Can't believe I was only 22... On a last minute opportunity I remember catching Journey during this tour with the new line-up on NY eve in Long Beach, CA: WHAT A GREAT SHOW!!

I watched this interview when it aired, and recorded it too! I must've skipped school to stay home and tape it. So glad you included Steve's comment about the host's beautiful teeth as the interview faded out. I remember that, but never saw it again until now. Thanks for sharing it!

GEN X, 1965! 56 years young, 49+ years "JOURNEY FAN"!!!! Thank you Ron South, boy do I feel the nostalgia. As for Steve Perry: Sherrie Swafford dumped him in July, 1985 after 5 1/2 years relationship including being on the road with Steve. Steve's Mom had a neurological illness she had been fighting for years and she also DIED in December, 1985. The 2 women he depended on for everything are now gone! You can tell all the LYRICS FROM ROR are concerning Sherrie Swafford.I honestly don't know how Steve mustered the courage for 1986....he should have gone STRAIGHT TO THERAPY after his Mom died.My own opinion~Steve Perry WASTED the best years of his life in seclusion [ 25 years] when he could have used the voice for many other projects." RUNNING FROM YOUR PAST" always catches up with you. A great therapist, inpatient therapy, grief therapy as soon S Mom died...we might have seen a different Steve Perry. Plus, allowing all the gossip to go forward that " he had throat cancer", NOT COOL.

There was some talk in an interview that accused Steve of being a curse for Journey. I don't think that is even close to the truth. The disagreements and other issues going on have nothing to do with him. Steve is a great person who wishes the band well.

Too bad the only way Journey is Journey is having the original band mates together
