I absolutely love Steve Perry. I can’t even put into words what his voice does for me. He is without a doubt the best male singer ever. I was broken hearted when Journey broke up but Steve kept his talent going on. Thank you Steve Perry for bringing us such joy.

Steve Perry ranked #76 in the all-time greatest singers list by Rolling Stone...what an utter joke! Show me a better singer in their prime. I haven't heard a better singer than Perry in his prime.
The very first time I heard Steve sing I had to know who owned that out of this world voice! I was instantly hooked! I had no who how to find out! I had to listen to my radio for days to hear “this voice again”. The next time, I called the radio station to find out who he was! I did and I have followed him to this day!
I don’t idolize anyone. But if I did, it would likely be Steve. For things such as his range, musical interpretation, dynamics, phrasing, incredible songwriting, etc. I Personally believe he’s probably the best singer ever. He really does transcend musical genres. But it’s very rare that a singer can inspire the musicians around him to achieve their ultimate best and Steve did that with journey. His vocals will live on for generations!
So well said. Though I have been criticized over and over, I ceased seeing Journey the same way after Steve was not there. Wouldn't and won't see or listen to them since. I have always loved Steve as a solo artist anyway. What a gem💙❤
Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin' from from the Evolution album was a big top-20 radio hit in 1979, so that was the real start of their commercial success that would lead up to the mega success of 'Escape' two years later.
Steve met Dr. Kellie Nash in 2011. She passed away on Dec 14th, 2012. Whoever put this together has done zero research. And, Steve's eyes are Hazel. All of this info is common knowledge to Perry fans.
Steve gave recognition to Arnel Pineda, the Filipino that Journey let in the band for the similarity of the voices. I'd bet he's happy that the band didn't die wit his departure like happened with others band for example Genesis. Phil Collins said he just wanted to start his solo career, not kill the band.
Thank you Steve Perry for being the man you are for the kind loving spirit that you are for the many many years of music and singing that you have provided and given us from your heart and soul I love you I love your voice you and you alone have provided so much peace and solace and brought me through such hard times that you really are such a big part of my life I still have my albums and cassettes from the 70s and 80s I have loved your music since I was a child please continue to provide us with your voice the world loves you I am truly and always have been a number one fan I love you Steve Perry keep on going

@@steveperry2823 No, but I listened to you on the radio and I watched you on MTV, I really like your songs, thanks for those beautiful melodies, listening faithfully makes me understand why you disappeared, it's never too late!
I knew his family. They seemed to be a very nice and blessed group. Steve wanted to date my sister (Miss Kings County, 1973), but that didn't happen for different reasons. I knew his cousin, and my close friend Johnny. Johnny used to bring by VERY cold and pure cow's milk from their dairy, it was so good and nutritional. Johnny was trying to court my youngest sister Sheri. Anyway, Steve didn't seem to get caught up in the fame which comes from notoriety based in the "Music's world" of stardom. I pray that Johnny Garcia and Steve are both happy in their lives? Bless you both!
I was incredibly fortunate to see Journey in 1983 on the Frontiers Tour. It was unbelievable and still ranks in the top 3 concerts of the more than 60 I’ve attended in my life. There is no Journey without Steve Perry. Even more so since Ross Valery and Steve Smith have been fired, too. Journey today is a Neil Schon-led Journey cover band. Good luck, Neil.

Steve Perry, posee una voz potente y educada, todas sus interpretaciones son geniales, aunque ha pasado el tiempo, su voz sigue siendo muy especial,, siempre amaré la música de journey y a steve
I loved him still do I ran away from home when i was 17 to go see journey at cominsky park in chicago! I rushed my way to the front row! I'll always keep that memory!

Whoever put this together, needs to get their facts straight! Steve has said publicly that he owns a "couple" of cars and that a person can only drive 1 car at a time!! As far as his earnings go with the album's that are shown? You're WAY off on the royalties. That's actually a good thing though. No one will ever know, accept Steve, just how much he's made. Personally? It's no one's business.
My absolute favorite singer with that God gifted voice that is Gold for Journey hopefully they know this! His voice that sells Journeys records! I love , love, love Steve Perry
Yeah... I noticed that too. And, it doesn’t appear that this poster has still not attempted to update/change the voiceover on this otherwise excellent piece. No bueno.
My top 10 male singers: 1. Steve Perry 2. Freddie Mercury 3. Chris Cornell 4. Robert Plant 5. Marvin Gaye 6. Michael Mcdonald 7. George Michael 8. Luther Vandross 9. Roger Daltrey 10. Don Henley
There's a lot of errors in this story -- I suggest you dig a little deeper and do a better job of getting the facts straight before you post this on You Tube!
@@stephenadamsmusicalinterpr4203 he did get a 12% take of ticket sales and Merchandise from that tour....years before that he was getting even more of a percentage ...but it wasn’t 21 million..
I have a very hard time believing he made 5 million from Infinity and Evolution. I'd be surprised if the whole band got a buck per album in royalties, and that had to be split.
Steve Perry’s voice is a true gift from God I love his music! But I think he is a very complicated man mentally. I was lucky enough to see him preform live with Journey at the forum and later by himself at the Pantages ! Love you Steve you are a dream man! Be well 💖🌷

@@steveperry2823 No, I've never been to your concerts. I would have liked. I listen to all your songs daily, all without excesses I like. You are my favorite singer because you have such a special voice and no one can exactly imitate it. May god always protect you.
He did confirm his daughter on The Big Interview with Dan Rather and he has 2 grandsons.. It was from when he was about 20 yrs old and he did not know about her tell she was 13 yrs...
His eyes are Green, and he won the necklace at the battle of the bands, his band won back in the day. And hes the coolest person to hang out with and be around. Doesn't like fame, but loves his fans none the less. He does it for the Fans! A true Rock God!
I'm not an overly emotional... love 80s music to today's tunes. But when I hear the opening notes of Don't Stop Believing I always get chills. Memories of concerts gone by I guess.

Steve Perry was unsurpassable in the tenor USA rock anthem genre. His voice really had it all... the smooth, clear, high and rough enough of an edge. His phrasing was impeccable and his tone completely recognizable and beautiful. American Peter Cetera from Chicago , Australian Russell Hitchock from Air supply and of course Freddie Mercury from Queen were all kings in the 70’s 👑. And all tenors.

Yes this information is not accurate at all. He never sang on the Eclipse album, and Steve has said in an interview before, he can only drive 1 car at a time lol and yes he is the only son of Ray an Mary, not daughter. His networth is not what they say. It's much lower. But for someone who doesn't make much music anymore, it's considerably high, only because he got a great deal when he left Journey in 1998. And yes he did confirm on Dan Rather The Big Interview, that he does have 1 daughter and some grandchildren.
This video has more misinformation than need be, and it makes both the page owner AND You Tube look bad ! No wonder Steve Perry is so damn private and reclusive until very recently.
He has a very distinctive voice and has the ability to sustain. He appears to to be very introspective and perhaps just wants to be around a genuine, down to Earth, and supportive female/ friends.
