Nadal vs Delpo Wimby 18 qf was one of the best matches I have ever seen. Every delpo forehand in that 5th was a winner. The quality that Rafa produced in the last 7-8 games to win was out of this world. And that hug at the end of the match. Two gladiators showing us what tennis is all about. A gentleman's sport at its finest.
One of the best forehand in tennis history. On the other hand, he is a very good sportsman, in winning or losing. It's always a privilege to watch Juan Martin del Potro. 👏
Literally off the charts. It’s just a shame he has been hurt so much of his career. Most likely would have won more than 1 major. Thanks a lot for the upload!
@@spywhale I mean he did Fed to win his maiden slam and he also beat him again at US open. I mean he has beaten the top 3 but injuries also took a toll on him
@@spywhale he was never the same before 2013. backhand and serve got worse. his 2009 form could have been better than andy murray. prime wawrinka was only 3 tournaments, his record against federer is embarassing. and delpo beat the big 3 more times than wawrinka
it's because of his height allowing him to hit through the ball "flat" with higher than normal pace and with a downward trajectory; the opponents topspin shots lifting directly into his power-zone. all the "physics" there working in his favor.
We never saw the best of him and that's annoying...his potential to have been a nemesis for Nadal esp stands out...He shown he could play on clay well at the 2009 FO semi against Federer..he strike off both sides, move well etc..
There was a time when i was bored of watching the big three even though i am a big federer fan. Del Potro was the only reason i used to watch tennis. So sad to see him miss out at his physical peak.
Del potro and Nadal probably have the best forehand ever. Del potro for grass and hard court and Nadal on clay just because of the massive spin he puts on ball.
Watching Del Potro bide his time until he finally gets a big ol watermelon, opens his swing and crushes the forehand winner at blazing speed is pretty damn thrilling.
He's got Beautiful Tennis! What a forehand! Wish his wrist problems could have resolved & he played loads more - even to the Olympics... LOVE seeing him beat Nadal especially!
@@tmb8807 Well he does implement his wrist layback, primarily uses his shoulders for the backswing therefore generating a longer swing axis. So he needs to be far from the ball to reach his contact point. He doesn’t bend his elbow much making so he doesn’t have much elbow/forearm take back. Federer has a shorter backswing.
I'm pretty sure all of shots between Del Potro and Nadal was from QF of Wimbledon 2018. An amazing match for the history book. Sadly, people may not remember it because it was just a QF. It should be the final or SF if the draw worked out differently.
La torre de Tandil!!! Delpo❤🇦🇷 merecías mucho más, que gran tenista. Ojalá que se anime a ser un profesor para seguir formando a más grandes tenistas argentinos. Gracias por tanto ❤
