My name is Samara. I was the plaintiff on this episode. The defendant abided Judge Judy’s ruling and I got my fur baby back!!! I will be forever grateful for Judge Judy!!!
That's incredible! I have pinned this comment for importance. I am curious though, what were you doing exactly when the case was recalled? How long after you left the set was it that you had to come back to do the recall? Usually a recall is due to trying to get evidence, but this time it's a completely unique reason, so this is the only reason I am so interested. Would love to hear your story!
@@BenGough Yes I was so excited!!! We went back stage for like 5 minutes and then they decided to have us come back and do the recall. Back stage they said it was the first time in Judge Judy history that someone went against the ruling lol.
Nintendog140...Reminds me of my mom when I would sass back. After the last syllable of what I murmured came out, I knew it was "curtains" for me! I'm 58 and still know that sensation of impending doom😦
@@knbsd3876 Yep, I was expecting her to throw the literal book at him. And yeah, and if I had ever talked back to my mother I would've gotten a beating so bad, I wouldn't remember or feel it for a week heh.
If he liked the dog that much I would get a cheap ticket forget the show. southwest, spirit. I know people who would pay alot more than airplane tickets and appearance fees to keep their dog.
She brought Byrd with her when she got the show deal. Her journey reads like a made for t.v. Script. Feisty family court judge promises to see you soon.
@@Platinum400 Most people on reality shows and the like, even in stuff like this, tend to not be stupid enough to break that wall. Judge Judy just so happened to pick one of the lone people so braindead they'd try to screw a TV-recorded court ruling in broad daylight. ...Coincidentally, the only other people that try to play that game, Gordon Ramsay is the one dealing with them.
I just love the one with the evil couple that scammed people by sending them 2 PICTURES of cell phones, for $500+. Judy was a hair away from calling CPS and possibly having their kids removed. I think maybe she did call. People who think it’s all just a joke are in for an eye opener from Judy.
@m rapacki These people are on a binding contract to abide by her rulings. If they don't, then they have to foot the bill that cost the show to bring them in. Plane tickets, hotel room, food they ate, all of it. If you're right, then I really hope the bill was worth it.
@m rapacki How do I make no sense? It's quite literally stated, by Judy herself that, before he leaves and goes home, he had to give her the dog or they won't pay for anything he used while under their contract, which would include the hotel, food, and plane tickets. They do have itemized bills too, so it wouldn't be hard to stick him with it. Breaching a contract is not something you can get out of easily, especially when the party opposing you can just go back and tell them, "yeah, he's gone." You likely don't know any more than I do.
@m rapacki it’s my understanding that the show pays the judgement. That’s the big incentive in cases where money is involved - if you win an award you’re going to get it (unless you break the contract with the production company, ofc).
They sign an agreement that they do what she rules. He wasn't abiding by her ruling so she did the only thing she could do. He didn't bring the dog so she couldn't make him give it to the plaintiff, so she had to threaten him another way. If he didn't want to do what she said he and his girlfriend should not have signed up to be on the show.
oh no, judge judy has lost the respect of someone who thinks that a dog thief going against a courts ruling is allowed but then calling him on it is "below the belt". shes gonna be so traumatised by this.
Loved every second of it! She didn't let him get away with that. He is so disrespectful it's not hard to shut the fuck up in court, talk shit when you leave like everyone else does anyway lmaoooo
I'd be curious to know who the hell raised this defiant rat for him to think he can be disrespectful like that. So sick of losers, they're cluttering the planet.
She's an actual judge but on her show she's an arbitrator. This is probably filmed in a studio of the company that owns the show where they made their own courtroom .
Wow slaying fascist you do love being a complete moron don't you? I mean seriously any halfway intelligent individual knows that Judge Judy is a retired judge and that her show is binding arbitration held in the style of regular courtroom proceedings.. But you're so lacking in basic reasoning skills all you can manage is some childishly stupid attempts at being insulting because you're too lacking in intelligence to accept that you're wrong or just be decent in general while having the hubris to act as if Americans are the rude ones.
You're still just a complete moron slaying fascist, can't do anything but repeat profanity because, again, you're a moron who hasn't a clue what he's talking about. Arbitration is arbitration, just because people are offered an appearance fee to be on the show doesn't mean it isn't binding arbitration, but you're such a simple-minded, hate-filled, profanity-spewing moron that you just can't understand such things.
I love that she did that to make sure that woman got her dog back. Judge Judy does alot of good things for the doggies, I've heard. She has a program to re-home owners that want to keep their dogs but just cant. Compassion is everything. 💜

For folks who say "Yeah, I'd have just bought a cheap ticket and screw the ruling" forget what JJ said, even though they have audio on their phones. She said, twice: "Or anything else." That's because the show not only pays for the tickets and the appearance fees, they ALSO pay for hotel accommodations AND meals. And the hotel they put them up in isn't cheap. And since they've already used the hotel, and eaten the food, they can't just go to another hotel or buy cheaper meals. They're on the hook for every single dime the show paid out to feed and house them for however long they were flown out for. He'd have been out A LOT more than one cheap one way plane ticket home. It's the "or anything else" that gets the deal done.

Jim Jones I'm sure it has nothing to do with the race of the people because there are plenty of your race of people who do and say more frustrating things on JJ. Its hard not to think negatively about your race of people based on how they act in the comments sections but I will take the high road.
+Alicia Im latin my husband is Irish 21 years gay couple.got lots diversely group of friends. Im telling you this because You handled that comment like someone I know. Me.
Smash 456 he saw that Judge Judy was going to threaten to withhold his plane ticket home, so he lied and insisted he lived in LA so that theoretically there will be no tickets to withhold.
His original thought was probably along the lines of "She thinks I'm from a ghetto" Or something. Honestly I'd think the same at first. Once she clarified she was talking about the plane tickets he reacted because he understood at that point.
So deeply satisfying! Guy got a earful. Pity he never got this from his mom while growing up. Would have straightened him out, abusive and awful man holding a little dog hostage!
Runako Porter lol So true! There's another episode where Judge Judy was sick with a cold and had a coughing spasm during the middle of a court case. So she excused herself and went to the judges chambers to take some medicine. Well the defendant was talking shit with the plaintiff, they were cousins I think. Anyway, they were laughing and talking about how he inflated the value of his car and other shit he was trying to swindle out of court and he was also making fun of Judge Judy and telling his cousin he knows how to play her and work her over. A whole bunch of stuff was said. Well what he didn't know is that Judge Judy has the audio hooked up in the judges chambers. She can hear everything that goes on in the courtroom. Lmao! So when she came back she made a complete fool out of him! Embarrassed and humiliated him. Best episode EVER!
I've heard Judy say this several times, and..she is correct! All parties must abide by the show/contract, and the punk lied and tried to play Judy...good luck dummy, you lost!
I LOVE JUDGE JUDY! There was no way that he was gonna return the dog to her...I had a hunch about it before he said what he did and I'm tickled with how it was handled. This is one of those cases where I'd love an update, ya know? I just hope & pray that he did the right thing.

I forgot that Judge Judy was filmed in L.A because I always thought it was in New York City. I live in Canada but I’m a huge fan of Judge Judy and all the great things she’s done over the years
"She ain't getting the dog and I can buy a cheap-ass plane ticket to get back home no problem." JJ: "OR ANYTHING ELSE!!" That means the hotel, the food he's already eaten, everything else he's done in LA aside from having flown there is now on his dime if he still don't wanna give that dog back.
court ordered. they will lock him up. even if he did get home on his own dime. she could call him in and go get her dog. know the law before you post shit you have no idea about
@@stay_low_key ...try having a more polite demeanour before calling people out in such a vulgar way as saying "know the law before you post shit you have no idea about" oh wait, having a proper set of manners is probably beyond your ability to comprehend using such language as you did. I feel sad for you, having to make yourself feel better simply by making others feel bad. a sad existence indeed...
My guess is that the producers made him do what she said, cause not only would he have to pay all those fees, but if he didn’t give it back, she could take the entire situation to a small claims court and use this episode as proof that he participated in a contract that bound the dog to her name. In that scenario, an armed officer would seize the dog and return it to her.
What most people don't get is that Arbitration is binding both in the cases of these TV shows and the court systems unless both sides agree to it. Breaking an arbitration agreement can lead to a contempt of court charge (jail), and fines.
@@sconex8072 The show pays for all hotel stays too. JJ reserves the right to even rescind compensation for anything litigants have used even before appearing in court. So even if he would have just got his own ticket home, he'd also be getting a nice fat bill from the hotel they stayed at. Judge Judy, being a lawyer for nearly 50 years, pretty sure knows exactly what she's putting into a contract in order to maintain the upper hand.
I expect she got the dog back. Breaking a contract with TV company involving a judge with filmed evidence... He would be in a world of pain... While trying to hitchhike from LA to Washington.
DAYUM, I have NEVER seen her flex like that. Never. In all the times I've seen her dismiss cases, make orders, tell people what they BOUGHT to do... I've never heard her essentially kidnap a person. "I hope you like L.A."
@Jyvur Entropy Kidnapping is illegal, so I didn't require an explanation that a judge did not, in fact, kidnap someone. But thank you for your vigilance against figurative speech. What are you doing for Halloween?
That guy was such a creep. He lied to Judge Judy about where he lived, now everyone watching all across America has seen he is a liar & a ne'er do well.
The way JJ gets you is the show pays for your entire hotel stay before you even step on the airplane to go to LA. Therefore, if JJ decides to rescind your return ticket home, the show will also bill you for the night stays at the hotel they paid to have you in when you first showed up. It's not just a matter of "He can just find a cheap ticket home." JJ is smart and made sure to cover her bases.
