"Once a woman gives up financial independence to a mate, it´s over" As single mother child i will say this: She is so damn right Girls and women, listen to her! Thank you Judge.
Many women are financially stuck before they enter relationships or marriage. Women don't have an earning problem they have a spending problem. - 2/3 of college debt is owned by women - 4/5 of consumer debt belongs to women - women spend on average 150% of their yearly earnings. That additional 50% is subsidized by husbands, fathers, brothers, credit, and loans.
"YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!!!!" "Goodbye!!!!" "Umm is not an answer!!!" "No don't look over there... look over HERE!!!!!" And the best one of all..... "Beauty fades, dumb is forever." Those are just some of my favorite quotes from her 😂😂!! What are yours?? I watch Judge Judy everyday after work. By far my favorite show.
Judge Judy is what happens when a woman studies hard in school, makes a career, attains financial independence, then gets wiser through experience, all while keeping hold of her sense of humour. Absolutely love that woman - what a role model for girls today!!!
Loved this segment. I'm 26, my mother made me watch judge Judy every day when I came home from school, which sounds hysterical, but quite frankly I am financially independent, I NEVER have let anyone drive my car, and never gave a mate/anyone money that wasn't returned... I really think it made me make better choices! If you're reading, maybe it's a good idea to make your daughter watch too! Haha
I agree! I don't force my 3 yr. old granddaughter to watch Judge Judy with me but she knows not to bug grandma while she watches Judge Judy. You just made me realize that watching the Judge has wonderful lessons about personal responsibility, self-esteem, parenting and not letting little things take over your life. There are so many angry, resentful people out there!
Judge Judy is saving lives literally by giving this straightforward advice in a very humble way which has the greatest impact on women’s lives. If you learn anything from life, Women listen up! Don’t give up your work and gifts up for anyone. Even if you find a good man, most men will die before you. Be financially prepared and be self sufficient.
Why did Judge Judy say that the only way women would stop buying a bunch of crap for men and letting them max out their credit cards is if they become financially independent?! Didn't she mean emotionally independent? She said women are so desperate to nest and let men take advantage of them financially, so that suggests to me that these women are already financially independent but emotionally dependent. I think she got confused and thrown off track after Ellen's wild lesbian comment. LMFAO!!!
@Sam Brikho honestly your a TROLL your on everyone’s comments and nobody cares what YOU think lmfao!!! Get a life if you can and your Ass isn’t literally fused to your couch find something productive to do . How about that ? Xoxo
I adore Judge Judy, you can see she genuinely doesn't care what race, gender, sexual orientation, age or anything other than the morals and the values someone shows
Judge Judy is a perfect example of a Woman who worked her ass off, played the game that most men control and conquered it. History has not recorded very many women that study law and control it like it a force a nature. Judge Judy is the rare example.
I remember reading this in a self help book that stook in my mind when I was young, "No one can never let you down if you rely on them emotionally or financially".
I think one reason why women date these men is because they think they can save them or change them. Every romance novel or romantic movie tells women that the bad boy can be saved with love. But that's not realistic, yet so many believe it.
+Amanda Jade so true in high school i asked out this pretty girl on a date she promise to meet me but never showed up then the next day she was making out with another dude who was a jock, turns out she likes hot mean jocks because apparently he would always treat her in the worst way possible, to this day they're still together, i would always say i would treat her better, but i guess she likes being treated like crap
Sooo true. Look at 50 Shades of Grey. The hero is messed up but the heroine fights for him because she believes that she can "heal him". But let's be honest: how many people out there would donate their old lives for a complicated relationship just to save the broken one? Almost none.
It's actually true!!! I PROMISE YOU!!! From the age of 14 my partner was constantly in and out of detention centres and prison, due to petty crimes. Right up to the age of 24 until we met. He's now 36 (I'm now 33) and he hasn't been back in since! NOT ONCE!!!!! I'm not saying the reason for this is me. What I AM saying is...It was him having SOMEONE believe in him. Someone telling him he can be good, that he DOES have a good heart and that yes, he CAN be loved and show love and have his own family and not have the fear that he's not good enough for it or that someone's going to take it away from him at the drop of a hat. That he IS worthy of love! Love conquers all! And I'm a great believer in that!!! He's an amazing partner and father to our now 10 year old daughter and I couldn't be more proud to say that this incredible man is mine and always will be mine! He's my one true hero and I'm so glad we met! Love u baby!
People often only think of her as a tv personality but forget that she passed The Bar, arguably the most difficult test made by man. Globally. She's incredibly intelligent and knows what she's talking about.
Such a smart lady! My aunt ( who died years ago) said my wise grandfather always encouraged his daughters to get college educations. They were very middle class, far from rich and this was back in the 40s. He said they should become teachers so they would NOT have to depend on a man for their living. Very smart advise I - myself- followed (except I didn't become a teacher)...along with work hard and save. I followed that advise and am retired today....living comfortably and happy at 65!
I think what she said is very important: financial independence. If we have to rely on someone else to make rent, pay for the car, buy food, etc., it's very hard to leave a bad relationship. Financial independence gives us options in life. It gives us freedom.
Everyone keeps saying she's mean. She's not mean , she has a very strong presence, and it demands respect and attention haha. It's just something she carries around naturally. You pay attention to what she says, it's like that one person in your life you don't want to disappoint lol she has high standards for humanity and common sense we should all be more like her! ♥️♥️
WOW! I can feel the wisdom pouring out of this woman. She is all about TRUTH and RESPONSIBILITY and these are traits that are very much lacking in this world right now. I would be very happy to have her as president.
Love Judge Judy!! She's the best ever!! I'm going to miss her show. I watch her everyday. I love her!! I wish judges in real life would be more like her!! 💖💖💖
I can't begin to explain my love and respect for Ellen. She's one of a kind and one of the very few that can constantly make me smile and laugh spontaneously! Love her so much!
+OLegendStudios (Real Pranks From NYC) I could not say that I love her because I don't know her in person. But what she does for a living is amazing. She is most certainly really good at it. :-)
I believe this is a " Circle of life lesson from times gone by" My mother gave me very similar advice,as did her mother to her,and so on etc. I hope i have made my mom proud as i believe i am the 1st generation of us that has been strong and individual, just as she "taught me" Glad i heard her words and heeded them. Judy is similar in the face as my late mom, hence i felt i should send this txt. STAY strong my fellow women!! X
Sooooo true! Financial independence is the key!! Believe me I learned the hard way! Even if you find the right man and don't have to work trust me just have something that you can fall back on just in case... have some sort of training or degree because you never know! Even if the man is perfect and would never leave you... he can die tomorrow you would never know it.... never depend fully on a man ladies!!!!
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Judge Judy and her fantastic lie-detector ability and supreme ability to cut through all the BS and get immediately to the truth - I wish we had more judges like her here in the United Kingdom!
My mom always taught me that - you need to be financially independent & well educated. Even if you never use it because your husband is very well off, you will always carry yourself as a formidable woman, worthy of the best. Should the unthinkable happen, either divorce or he loses his job, you know you have something to fall back on. Desperation is a foul stench, one that both women and men need to stop wafting. You shouldn’t settle for scraping the barrel or expect people to change themselves entirely.
+Christa Beery She knows. Ive seen plently of her episodes where she tells women off for using and abusing men, Particularly when they use children as blackmail.
+Christa Beery Maybe this has to do with the way women see their relationships, it is definitely different from men. Maybe women have too many expectations from a relationship and this cause them to always fell used.
Thanks Ellen!!you redeemed yourself after Kourtney's appearance and Kylie and the rest..This is worth watching and appreciating...Graciasssssssssssssssss
Everything that Judge Judy says it so dam true! I learned from my mother's prior mistakes in taking in schlabs or my preferred type - Jerks! For this I stand alone instead of cultivating relationships that are bad. You do have to establish yourself financially which is so true. I'm glad I watch Judge Judy because she emphasize women need to take care of their own particular situation. Plus to pass down those values!
This kinda hit home to me. I have my career but no "mate" - so I constantly find a "slum" to be with and I'm always like have this have that but then after I give them something they just walk away. (Don't worry it's never a credit card or anything that could put me in debt, more like clothes or shopping purchases) I'm going to change that. If a guy wants to be in my life, he wouldn't want to take advantage of my money. Thanks Judge Judy!
+JK193765 She's a horrible judge. I already know the verdict, the instant the litigants for the case walk in! If it's a white vs a black. The white wins. If it's an Asian vs a black. The Asian wins. If it's a Latino vs black? That all depends on whether the Latino speaks with an accent. If they speak with an accent, the black wins. Watch the show! 9 times out of 10, this is true!
As I have gotten into being an adult. I have learned that I don't need a man to make me happy or have my end life goal to be married have kids and build a life with someone. I can have kids and built a career and a life all on my own. I feel the reason this woman/ girls get into these relationships is because they are unhappy with their lives and need a man to fill that void. Which is not true no one can make you happy you need to do that for yourself.
Amen! If you want man in your life, he's gotta compliment you, not complete you. Otherwise, you'll go on searching your entire life for that missing piece.
+Ashley Maria Some insights. The dating pool right now is filled with late 30's/low 40's career and independent women who are suddenly turning into white knuckled clingers seemingly because of old maid fears. Not that I wish to date an "clinger" but suddenly tradition has become a very important need for their lives. One can tell that they are jumping fresh into these roles. Biology triumphs and all of the posturing and "free" memes fall short of the prospect of being alone. This dating age bracket is also filled with women "too cool for school" and are now developing into tear eyed clingers. Ideology is a bad partner, especially when facing a future of isolation.
LET'S GO INC. That are just some woman who are doing that. now. In my age group there are a lot of guys who are very immature and don't have their life together. so girls who are more mature look for older (25 - 30) or younger depending.
I think Judge Judy looks so stylish and elegant in her dress attire! An inspiration to many! And as for her words of wisdom and advice , spot on! I love seeing her interviews as she has a wonderful smile and a twinkle in her eyes which due to the nature of her work we don't often get seeing! Classy , intelligent lady!
