"Judgy" Pantry Experts & A CORRUPT Food System 

Hey praise report- my husband was laid off in October and just got a decent job, good company. We were 1 pmt away from losing it all. Hang on folks! God is the true LIVING GOD and his mercy is for us all. Claim it! Bless others however He leads. Don't stop giving! Upstate NY. Praise God!!!

I am a senior who lives alone. I deal with the high price of food by making a whole pot pie, or a large pan of escarole and beans, American chop etc. I have it for dinner, then freeze the rest in portions to have another time. So then I have loads of dinners that I don't have to buy as the prices creep up.

Doritos looked at Bud light and said "hold my beer!"

I just purchased several cans of canned spaghetti and raviolis for my pantry. Are they healthy,no,but,they were purchased for survival meals to share and possibly eat if we need too. No judgement here in anyway for anything people are trying to do. We are all preparing the best we can. Those cans of canned spaghetti sit proudly beside my homemade canned chili and soup. Pray,prep and pray some more. ❤

My daughter calls my prepper pantry my doomsday room. They say I'm being unrealistic. Nothing is going to happen. You're very blessed that your family supports you

I agree 100%, I have gone hungry, hunger is painful and if it’s a can of chicken noodle soup, spam, or beans and wieners, that fills that void, you will be very grateful to have it!

When will companies stop supporting the nonsense!!!!! So sick of not being able to watch anything on TV without the depravity being shoved down our throats! Every commercial pushes their agenda! God how I want to go back to 1975 when we could watch TV and it was wholesome shows, we could run the neighborhood and be home by dark and not worry. Drink out of water hoses and play cowboy and indians with the neighborhood kids. God bless us and guide us in this horrible time!

Sometimes our difficulties (food allergies) turn out to be blessings. Since 1997 we have had to learn how to eat well, without sugar, gluten, nitrates, and all kinds of food additives that affect our health in negative ways. Now - there's no question that what we mostly eat is fresh, real, whole foods. Things like cereal, chips, candy and processed foods are not even on our menu. Thank goodness!

I cook all my meals from scratch. Occasionally, I will order a pizza or eat a fast food hamburger, but it's not often. My mom cooked from scratch, it was usually a meat, a vegetable and some form of potato. We did not eat bread with our meals and had very few desserts. Coca-cola was a special treat we didn't get very often. I can't remember our family ever eating in a restaurant. On road trips, we had sandwich makings in the cooler, and we would pull off the road to eat them.

I never thought that I would ever be scared and disheartened being an American from America but America dropped the ball and now life has changed forever. Growing up we were poor but didn't really know that we were poor we felt safe and proud being in America. I'm so sad for Americans and anyone else who depended upon her for their safety and protection.

It's getting really hard to avoid the bioengineered foods. I try to avoid it as much as possible, but I also can't afford to fill my pantry with all non-GMO, organic foods and I don't always have time to make everything from scratch. Just do the best you can.

I miss my cereals and Saturday morning cartoons. The foods I enjoyed when I was younger are no longer the same and I no longer eat them.

I donated a little over 2 1/2 cases of soups for the people that was in the fires here in texas from my preps

I just thought I had a few people out there as well as you know prayer really works. Because I know you really do know that and is a chaplain and knowing lots of pastors and chaplains this was a great day. My daughter-in-law went in for surgery today for cancer in her left lung. He said the lymph nodes might have cancer so they would have to check that before. They actually did anything about the lung. There was nothing wrong with the lymph nodes. Just a little oversize. No problems here they got all the cancer out. so I wanna give all praise to the Lord Jesus Christ because prayer does work. So put your faith in God. Does it mean that we’re not supposed to not do anything he’s gonna do it all no we’re supposed to do things. However, he is there for us, and he will take care of us, and sometimes things happen that we really don’t want to.but is today showed he looked out for my daughter-in-law, and the doctor was able to get out all the cancer, and the surgery went very well and easy as we were told praise the Lord

😮 MY HUSBAND ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED A PIECE OF KITKAT ON THE FLOOR AND THEN A LIL BIT LATER, he CLEANED OUT his TRUCK & SWEPT IT OUT ON THE GROUND AND THEN A FEW WEEKS LATER THAT KITKAT IS STILL OUT THERES & IT STILL HAVES THE CHOCOLATE IS STILL ON IT ! IT DIDN'T DEVOLVE & FROM THEN ON WE STOPPED EATING THEM !

A pastor friend of mine said one time, make the best food choices you can, then ask the Lord to bless it and believe that he will!

Observations from the pest control field: >Right now, there are people out there where, when you go into their apartment, food of any kind is so sparce you wonder how they are even eating. Literally next to nothing in the entire kitchen or pantry. >The number of people who would not be doing any eating at all, if it weren't for food banks, is increasing by the day. The number of apartments I go into where most to all of the food in there is food bank issue product is staggering. I service enough food banks, so I'm able to memorize the labels of food bank issue products. >The number of homes I go into, where the residents have more than enough money to be able to afford one year plus of quality backup calories but have only what they have in their pantry or kitchen, will blow your mind. I'm talking about people who literally could afford, minimum, an extra three months of quality calories for the entire family in a single drop. These are the homes the hordes will show up at, looking for food. And they're no better prepared than people who will struggle to acquire five backup cans per week. What happens when the hordes show up, expecting to eat and finding almost nothing? That's where things could get ugly. >I can count on one hand, the number of homes I've gone into where the residents have long-term food storage (good for at least 25 years). My thumb would get bored because it would have nothing to do.

As a grandmother of 7 beautiful grand daughters.....not in my house will there ever be any doritos. Did my homework and gagged almost the whole time! Yulk and so much more, I want to say!! Did not know, so thank you! I dont buy them either, so no loss there!!

All I have to say is my grocery trips are simple. I stay out of the middle iles and stick to the outer part to buy whole foods only. Cereal has glyphosate. More and more people are sick with disease because of our diet. We need to take care of ourselves.

I heard about that and they couldn’t fire him fast enough. I’m sure they’re worried about a “no buy” like the last time. Hits them in the pocketbook. That’s why I think they care now.

PepsiCo owns Frito-Lay, the maker of Doritos, as well as Tropicana, Quaker Oats, Aquafina, Gatorade, Gamesa, Sabra hummus, Aunt Jemima, and many other products. If you feel strongly about boycotting any large corporation these days, you have to figure out exactly what to give up.

I saw that nasty, disgusting mess. Luckily I don’t buy Doritos any way.

We grow what we can and support a local Georgia beef farmer. We also shop at a farmers market. If we can support our local suppliers, we do.

I'll never understand why so many companies jeoparidze their profits by alienating large numbers of their customers with their politics. All they need to do is "shut up" and make a good product and they will do just fine. Common sense isn't so common anymore.

We don't eat most cereals, especially Kelloggs. The nerve of that CEO telling us to eat their poison every night for dinner. He can go straight to h e double hockey sticks!

You are so selfless and loving for trying to help us all I. The decisions we make daily. You keep telling us thank you for supporting you but I want you to know how much you mean to me. This is a hard time in our lives to do the best we can and still pay attention to what’s right and wrong. I'm with you 100%. My mama always said "if you can't say something good, don't say anything at all". I can not 'can' stuff anymore. Living alone and not able to lift canners, all the stuff is just too hard BUT I am blessed enough to watch for sales and put away a lot of canned vegetables. I got all the things commonly suggested by people who wanna tell people what to do. That said, I also have Kraft mac n cheese, Ramen, Duncan Heinz brownie mix and microwave popcorn 😂. Great sales and food put away. Period. Also, gas today (Michigan) was 3.79. Save where you can and still survive and never apologize!

My b/f and I went through alot of the cereal at Walmart. I was hooked a few yrs ago and Cinnamon toast crunch and Honey nut cheerio's. Both of those and a few others we seen has I think its trisodium phosphate, its a paint thinner and they are bioengineering. I nearly got fired from my job due to too many mistakes, I work for a Hazardous Ins. Processing center. I seen a video about the chemicals in cerals and checked, sure enough it was in there. I stopped eating cereal. We did find Shredded Wheat did not have either. I check pretty much everything. There are a couple things once in a while that I buy but not often. The hunt is on!

Frito-Lay and Pepsi fall under processed food. I cut that out of my diet a year ago. Don’t miss it at all!

I'm in total agreement with you, Patara. But basically we need to also be aware of their "flavor enhancers" and what they are made from. I will not spell it out here, but the name of the company is called Senomyx, and Pepsi, Frito-Lay, and Nabisco all use it. It WILL more than gross you out, and when I heard of it, I quit eating ALL of their products. It is NOT just a matter of unhealthy chemicals--far from it. Please look into it.

As far as chips, the generic are fine by me if I have to have some. Also does the CEO of Kellogg even know what a small box of cereal costs right now? I'm personally not paying over $8 in my area for a 10 to 12 oz box of cereal, which is empty calories and won't keep you full very long. Ridiculous, and shows just how out of touch those people are.

I been going through my cabinets and seeing foods that I'm not going to eat cuz I have changed things that I use to eat. I live in an apartment so I bag up the food and put it out at the mail box. Its nice to look out my living room window and see the bags gone. Its a good feeling knowing people around me needed the food.

Several years ago my grown son would eat that sugary cereal that had the honeybee on the front of the box, and often I did ,too. Here's something we both noticed; after eating that cereal, we would both get so sleepy that we could barely keep our eyes open, and a lot of times, my son would fall back asleep, and if I didn't keep moving I did the same! We quit eating it, needless to say.

Price of gold hit a record high which sounds good if you’re a gold holder BUT, it’s also a hard core warning that the economy is toast. Praying folks. The downhill slide is picking up speed.

I stop eating Doritos 12-15ish years ago. It has MSG in it and MSG is a migraine triger.

Since I've learned that seed oils (i.e. vegetable oil) are as bad as sugar in contributing to oxidative stress and inflammation, I avoid the chips, and most all fried foods. These oils are nearly as bad as sugar, in that they are an ingredient in many of our commonly used products - such as mayo, salad dressing, etc.

I urge everyone to look into EDTA n it's in Chick-fil-A sauce many mayo brands n salad dressing's... Being allowed by the FDA ..

I try to remember to read the ingredients of any bread I buy. I found a loaf at my local market a couple months ago, and one of the ingredients was bamboo fiber! How on earth is bamboo fiber digestible?!

100 agree that when you haven't eaten for one or two days if you are lucky to get your hands on something to eat you're not going to care if it's bioengineered

They have fired that spokesperson today. He was their representative in Spain. Last night I informed my brother who likes Fritoes that I would not be buying them for him and why. He agreed no more. Then today to read they fired him,

PATARA- A law went into effect 01/01/2023 that forced food manufacturers to state when there was a bio engineered food ingredient, and there are exceptions, restaurants, fast food and there were other exceptions. There has been bio engineered ingredients in our food for who know how long, it didn't just start, but now mostly they have to state it. So those food purists need to get off their thrones, they have been eating bio engineered ingredients for years. It's just now we can try to avoid as much as we can when possible.

So much truth, Patara. I'm struggling spiritually for this country so much that I'm not going to check out the Dorito thing. You young folks can do that. I'm truly becoming physically ill knowing this country is invaded and dying. Not a shot fired and it's gone. Yes, I buy those canned goods because I know that it will survive a power outage for a very long time. You have no idea how much food I've had to throw out from hurricanes. If invaders destroy our power grid, our picky eaters will be at our tables.

I use the Yuka app a friend recommended to me two years ago. You can scan the label and it tells you how the product is rated. It’s not just for food. Cleaning and hygiene products scan as well. It changed my purchases for sure.
