Edelman almost lost his life and guarantee lost at least one year of life from that hit as you can clearly see him staggering to gain those extra yards. He was concussed and didn't go to the sideline because he would have been taken out of that game and Patriots lose
He said it was his hip muscles that cramped on him, hence the staggering / limping. Also his leg gets twisted in a wierd direction after the hit and spin. Must’ve pulled his hip muscle even more. He dissects defenses, picks em apart. Apparently people think you need to throw every pass 40+ yards into double coverage like gun slinging moron to be the best.
I call it strategically knowing how to attack a defense. He let the game come to him - but he also made so many gotta have it plays. His deep ball, intermediate, and short passes were so automatic that his accuracy gets overlooked because he made that kind of perfection look easy. He didn't just take what a defense gives him like when a D gives up underneath or dares a QB to beat them outside the numbers or deep and so they're, 'giving that,' - that's what young QBs who actually are just game managing to keep their job do. He understood match ups and play for play who was going to win their match up and how to attack the weakness of a defense, while also knowing when to take what a D gave him. Those are all different things imo and he was masterful at those nuances, while also putting the ball every throw on the money where it was needed most all over the field. I miss watching it.
I think this was the game where afterwards he said it felt good to have just beaten such a great time like Jacksonville, or something like that. He was concussed and didn't know which team he just beat, I believe due to that hit at 00:38
The fact that this dude was a 4'11 kid in his first few years of highschool, a QB in college, and then doing this in the NFL, is nuts. Those jukes and ducks to avoid getting tackled at 1:02 were elusive ASF.
