If its possible I have become a bigger Edelman fan since he retired. Probably a combination of appreciating more how he played and getting to know him through podcasts. On a side note, it is impossible for Edelman to mention something Belichick said without impersonating him, and I love it😂

@@knightsfb32So is that all the HOF is stats. If the HOF is all about state being second to Jerry Rice in the postseason deserves a HOF honor in my book. Wes Welker was great but he couldn't finish the job that's the difference between him and Edelman, not to mention Edelman is a Superbowl MVP. Only 8 receivers have won a Superbowl MVP and Edelman is one of them.

Edelman is clearly a guy with a healthy dose of realistic self-awareness. He recognized it was time to hang it up and made the wise decision to do so with his health intact. He is still a very young guy with plenty of runway to start building the next chapter of his life. Too many guys try to hang on for way too long either because of poor financial decisions or because their entire identity and self-worth is tied to their sports career so they can't accept the reality of not being a "star" anymore. There is a limited window of time within which to maximize your earnings before your body breaks down, or when there is simply another young prospect who is younger, stronger, faster who comes along to replace you. Such is the reality of pro sports. Accept it for what it is, which is temporary, and enjoy the ride while putting aside some of the rewards for life after sports which (hopefully) will be much longer than the time spent playing the sport. All the best to Julian for a happy, fulfilling post-football life.

He had injuries stacked yes, but I really feel like he did NOT like Cam. Cam was always asking Jules that year why he was in such a bad mood, and Jules wouldd just say I am a grumpy guy...which he's not. Going from Tom Brady mentality led team to a goof, washed Cam is a huge culture change that I don't think Jules was feeling at all. Just my opinion though.

As a lifelong Seahawks fan, we had it good with LOB and BeastMode. Russ wasn't it, though. For all the hype/chip on his shoulder talk, Super Bowl XLIX exploited him, rightfully so too. Him calling that audible with the Lombardi on the line, knowing EVERY other player and coach was expecting BeastMode there? Yep, that was his nail in the coffin as a Seahawks QB. The fact it took nearly 10yrs to finally rid ourselves of him? Far too long. Brady always understood what was at stake and to put team above himself. Russ never had that POV.
