Helen, my first husband was an alcoholic and it wasn’t a very happy marriage. At times I had wished that we never married but now I don’t think that anymore because if I hadn’t married him I wouldn’t have my precious children and grandchildren so I wouldn’t trade my decision for the world.

Hey Beautiful Queen Helen 🌹🌹🌹. I'm like Cody, I don't want onions or bell peppers in my salmon. We call the bread flap jacks. Our hoecake is one big biscuit and we cook it in the oven. I use a small fork and spoon too😂😂. I love your videos ❤❤❤

Grandma I always remove the black skin, dark meat and the bones and yucky stuff from the salmon too. The dark skin has a tendency to make the salmon patties taste fishy to me. I guess we made smaller ho-cakes for years. Our oven went out and we fried the biscuits on top of the stove in a skillet. We called them cathead biscuits since they were large and when we made one large biscuit we called it a pone of bread. Either way, they were delicious!

Helen my daughter always has to have how cake with her butterbeans she puts it in the liquor off the butter beans. I prefer fried cornbread patties with all my vegetables. You did a great job on your hoe cake and salmon patties.

The dark color is "the skin that is rich in Omega 3" thats very very good for you - it doesn't change or alter the taste - the "vertebrae is calcium supplement - one of the best sources and it crumbles - not like serious stabbing bones" that are usually in fish....All of the canned salmon is used for the best nourishment. Just how we do it - do as anyone likes, just wanted to share.

Pan bread looks good

You did a great job cooking. The food looked delicious. I will make some soon. I learned from my grandmother and she did not measure anything. A cup to her was a coffee cup full. But she rarely made anything from a cookbook. She would use boiled potatoes to mix in the salmon. When meat was cooked...she would add flour to the pan, salt and pepper and then mild and stir for a gravy. Yum yum yum. I want some now. Oh and she always used her large cast iron pan.

Grandma I'm so sorry I wasn't in live chat this morning. I have been feeling so so bad that I didn't even try to get out of bed at 10am. I'm trying to take care of my dad's affairs while he's at the nursing home and trying to deal with my pain and it's proving to be a pretty big challenge but I can't get any of my siblings to do it. Grandma I love the cushion you bought for the bench. You do look like a queen on her throne now. Your salmon patties and hoecake bread look delicious. I've never tried green pepper put in my salmon cakes but I will try it. I have been frying bread for years and didn't know all this time that I was frying hoecakes, hahaha. I just call it fried bread and I use it with fried eggs, etc., and put syrup on mine too and eat it as a pancake. I love you grandma and I hope you have a good rest of your day honey.

I think the pan temp didn’t work well is because the black non-stick coating is partially gone. The pan becomes toxic when that happens and should be thrown away. :(
