What a cracking update Arran and a great harvest. This is my first year growing veg, so really enjoying seeing what other people have going on. All my veg is well behind yours, but hopefully I’ll be harvesting soon.

Lovely video, nice harvest! Get it in the basket is definitely your tag line! Lol unfortunately once onions throw out scapes they are done, they won't dry out and store either as the scape comes from the centre, so maybe dice and freeze? Also means onions through winter! It's what I do with my scaped ones anyway. You've done a fab job so far, well done!

Hi Arran, my potatoes looked like yours. I flew in to full panic mode, turned them all out and threw the foliage away. Potatoes however are delicious 😊 it's my 3rd year of growing veg in my garden so every day is a school day for me too. Keep up the good work 👏

The potatoes are fine Arran .When did they go in and what variety ? Some super harvesting ! Once an onion has thrown up a Scape it won't bulb up anymore so best to pick and chop and freeze .Well done ,everything looks very healthy 🥇

Thanks Susie the potatoes are king Edward’s sown in April and that’s disappointing about the onions they are only little so will be a lot of processing oh well it is what it is. Thanks again ☺️

Hi Arran, nice tour and harvest. I'd be weary about the borage. I sowed it one year, and am still trying to get rid of it because it pops up absolutely everywhere. If you have it in a pot and it drops seed, it'll still invade the garden. To be honest, it doesn't eat that well so I doubt you will think it's worth taking the space where you could grow appreciable food crops. Just my opinion, but you'll see I guess. Your sweet peas are looking great, and do make sure you leave them run to seeds. I did that last year and they all came up this year, yet the "fresh" seeds from T&M did very poor germination, as did many of T&Ms old seeds, which I a pretty sure is the problem. I sowed over 100 saved seeds ad they virtually all germinated. You've done well with the cucurbit plants, many of us have been hammered by the slugs and snails (the devils pets I call them). You might do well to thin out the parsnips as they are a bit too shoulder to shoulder and they won't grow as wide if you leave the too densely planted. You've done so well and it's great to hear you encourage other new growers, well done. X

Thanks jimmy always a pleasure to hear from you. I’ll keep that in mind about the borage may have to kill it off early before it starts producing seed. And great shout about the parsnips will thin out later today. Most of the sweet peas from this year are actually saved seed from last year will definitely be saving again. Thanks again jimmy happy growing 👍🏼

I had a conversation about parsnips with a friend last week. What on earth do you do with parsnips? Like what type of things do you make with them?
