Junior Doctors Go Out On Strike AGAIN 

Every time I hear Jeremy Corbyn speaks it always makes me wonder how much of a better state Britain would be in right now if he was voted in as PM

the salary that the NHS pays its doctors is an insult, i don’t blame these people at all. they deserve to be paid much more for the services they provide

£29,000 for a first year salary. After 7 years at uni and with accumulated debts of £120,000 to be repaid at 7.6% interest. MPs get £91,000, subsidised bars and restaurants and generous expenses. They say the junior doctors are just being greedy...

I earn more than £15 ph! I work in insurance so the fact that our country won’t pay them what they are asking for is just unacceptable, MPs always get an increase

I’ve worked for this country all my life & have become more I’ll through aging & wear & tear, I won’t get to retirement. The population is already sick, and if you can’t pay out of your own pocket (which is impossible for the majority of citizens) get ready for sub par treatment and unacceptable waiting times. I had a concussion like incident (temporary memory loss, persistent headaches afterwards) and wanted a brain scan, ended up waiting 4 months. I healed on my own in those months, but it has been hell. At this point I also have to mention that I live in Germany, not the UK. So doesn’t matter if you’re in or out of the EU. Doctors migrate to better paying countries everywhere. And If you ask me, getting paid enough money is probably not the only issue here. I don’t want to imagine how it feels like having to refuse treatment for someone in the best way I can, only because insurance says no we are saving money. A lot of doctors hands are completely bound by the system they inhabit.

Not that the NHS is providing an adequate service to start with. The whole NHS needs better management to bring it under control. So much money is wasted on over paying doctors (50% of the NHS budget is on pay).

Maybe if healthcare was less influenced by the state, the market would respond by paying junior doctors more, to stop them leaving. These guys seem to be arguing for market mechanisms

Strange that on the same day as this video History Debunked has a video about how doctors earn enough that many of them only work part-time and many retire early; if the pay is so bad, how can they afford to do that?

If doctors leave to work in medicine abroad, there should be a way to close back the fees for their degrees including nhs subsidies.

We live in a society where you can get more for stacking shelves in a supermarket than if you spent 7+ years in education and racking up tens to hundreds of thousands in debt. I have no objection if these individuals go off to other countries and companies that actually appreciate and value them. Broken Britain

The NHS has needed reform for decades. It was never setup for anything and everything medical to be free! Unfortunately there are newer illnesses and diseases since the NHS was started that are very expensive to treat. These need to be covered by insurance rather than the general fund. If we actually reformed, got rid of middle management, the countless waste (standard in a public service) and these nonsense new positions that have been created, we could pay junior doctors more. Australia is always going to be more attractive option, its a much smaller population and no where near as busy. It's also funded with a mix of government, private healthcare and most importantly, some things are paid for out of pocket when they are not covered by either public or private!

Remember a coupe, for years ago NHS Consultants were threading to go on strike because they did not want to pay theta. Imposed by Labour on mega pension pots(that only really impacts doctors and civil servants). If income tax was raised to cover NHS COSTS the doctors would be hit by, then no doubt go on strike as they should not pay it because they re special.

Everyone has lost money. But this thing fails to mention. Doctors get automatic pay rises for service eg they get 2 pay rises a year. Like everyone they start at the bottom but quickly shoot up. LOOK AT HOW DOCTORS WORK. They are the modern day coal miners, gaming the system to rip us off. They work part time(but claim full time) then work part time private, why do you think waiting lists re so long they make it this way to push those that can afford to go private. Change all contracts. Eg Can only work for 1 NHS employer eg no part time work for any other employer so it’s forces them to either work 100% for the NHS or private companies, but they won’t go to work for BUPA as the T&Cs would be far worse. The current situation is a clear conflict of interest. Money needs to be diverted to mental health hospitals and old people’s homes.

Here in New Zealand our new right wing government has triggered a mass exodus to Australia. When will politicians realise that people want money spent on health. Support to our two junior doctor nieces in the uk👍
