Junior Doctors Strikes Are "Disgraceful" Says Former NHS Trust Chair

Former NHS trust chair Martin Gower says strikes by junior doctors starting tomorrow are “disgraceful”.
Junior doctors will strike from (Wednesday) at 7.00am until 7.00am on Saturday (23 Dec) with the NHS prioritizing urgent and emergency care as consultants step in to cover for junior doctors.
After Christmas and New Year, the longest action ever by junior doctors is also planned from the 3rd January to to the 9 January.
Martin says: “I do feel for the people who will be impacted by this... I see the strike as a strike against them. It’s done as much to hurt the patients as anything else.”

What is bad pay? The doctors are seeing some being made millionaires and they want a bit of the cake. They don't want to work full time. It is time to wrap up the NHS completely. There is far too much money going into the system. There are plenty opportunities to work abroad but they don't pay as much as doctors in the UK. So tough,

Diluite the gammon's wages, not ours, scream the bourgeoisie ! We dont need them anyway, because we have thousands of profesional doctors arriving by the boatload daily.

They should be fired and have their medical licence revoked,long gone are the days when doctors cared about people,now it's just to line their grubby little pockets.

Ok well have no doctors then, we are already leaving in masses, paying more will help retain staff we need for day-to-day care to be safe, working hours for free, being abused daily then getting £14 an hour is just insulting and we are fed up

What annoys me is they always seem to be laughing on the picket lines when the there patients won't be smiling, yes they probably deserve more money but try living on a home carers wage at £19 a day caring 24/7, for us it's more about the love and care you give a person for a better life, we all have struggles with money, they joined the NHS to save lifes striking won't save lifes it will take them, we the public will suffer not the goverment and striking over xmas for 3 days is holding the public to ransom.

Talk TV is presenting these strikes as an opportunity to privatise everything. But the main point is that they shouldn't be going on strike.

And how should they be standing in a picket line, feeling suicidual or trying to keep their morals lifted, too many say they get £40k a year but neglect to make clear tax has to be paid and living and working in London, after tax how much do the doctors really have left yet, Britons continue to ignore tax must be paid from wages.
