Sailing into Modern Day JURASSIC PRAK. We are sailing up the crocodile infested waters of inside channel of Hinchinbrook Island. Despite its natural beauty, Hinchinbrook Island is also home to a significant population of crocs. These apex predators thrive in the island's mangrove-lined creeks, sandy beaches, and tidal flats. Join us as we sail into what feels like Jurassic Park.

It is a beautiful area and you guys got great footage! I especially like the drone following the tender, and when you circled the boat. Well done guys.

Thank you so much! We had a lot of fun playing with the drone. Amazing scenery in Hinchinbrook! We could easily spend weeks here! 😍

Fun wilderness expedition. Hinchinbrook must be a healthy ecosystem to host giant predators like the crocs. Looks easy to get lost in that labyrinth? Some awesome videography here, especially the 12:33 - 14:06 stretch. I see that wind is welcomed there, lol.

Thank you so much! It was a lot of fun flying the drone here and chasing the tender around all the creeks - had a so much fun! Lots of wildlife m, the island is untouched wilderness. So many croc, fish, and crabs in these waters! -Cait

Awesome spot! Loving the drone shots! Yes we definitely remember those midgies, they were relentless when we were there.

We lucked out the first night and there was a but of wind, the third day the wind was dead and they were on a mission to eat us alive 🤣🤣 the bug spray and tea tree oil helped heaps! Thank you for noticing! The drone footage was super super to shoot and chase the tinny around the creeks! -Cait

Thats quite a Mangrove forests.... though you wouldn't want to pop over to neighbours for a bag of sugar. Thats the first time ive seen garfish going bonkers airborn like that ... At least not without a predator chasing them .. I guess the boat fairy is at the perfect hight for fresh flying sushi 🫢 though shes clearly taking it all in her stride. ☺️ It would be nice to see on a map where you are on the Australian coast for us so far away... The Carribbean got hit by its earliest class 5 hurricane earlier this week It shredded some vey beautiful islands but thankfully mostly skirted Jamaica and Haiti.. its now heading for the Triassics ground zero ... the Yukatan peninsula Mexico as tropical storm Beryl.. though theres already two more spinning up out in the Adlantic. The US boat insurance companies are getting very difficult... meantime cruisers are having to try to second guess the Storm tracks and try to get into hurricane holes. Watch the Mozies ...there more dangerous than the crocs 😉🧙🏻‍♂️

They definitely can be dangerous the little midgies especially in full force. Charlie was really good in the tender staying away from the slides and listening to instructions - no arms, legs or heads out of the tender in these waters! 😆🐊🦖 Lots of walking fishing and garfish around the area in addition to the crocs! Very said to see the destruction from Beryl, our thoughts are with those affected 🤍 -Cait

In South Australia you can go "fishing" for Gar with a torch and a dab net and just cruise along slow and grab a few. They are very tasty if you get ones that are a decent size. I am not a fan of crocs, I'll leave them to their space and I'll keep my space away from them..lol . Thanks for the video.

Can in WA as well, get the right nights and it looks like the sea is boiling, smelly buggers.. had a mate who used to eat em, I asked, “really?” Apparently he cooks em in cold saltwater and lemon after gutting and eats them like sardines, (never actually tried them myself)

@@sailingwiththejamess hmmmm yes interesting is a word I probably wouldn't use .. I guess your lucky that the croc's haven't been trained/ get used to leaping up out of the water for a chicken on a rope ... just for the tourists ( yeah like that's not going to have consequences at some point..) . You seemed quite in control of what you were doing and I would call it thrilling to be in such close quarters with an apex predator. Really appreciate your video's of your adventures. Thanks.

If we didn't have the tinny we wouldn't have attempted scooting around the creeks in this area. All hands, arms, fingers and stuffed animals inside thr tinny at all times 🐊👍 We've been to Hartley's in Cairns and Australia Zoo and croc can jump HIGH! Quite impressive creators and dangerously high patience levels 👌 😀 -Cait

Assuming Capt. Cook named your island, he must have started recycling names as we have one up here in Prince William Sound Alaska
@sailingwiththejamess
@sailingwiththejamess 3 дня назад
Yes it was Capt Cook who named the island in 1770! That's so interesting to learn! -Cait

I wonder if there's any other similar names, he named a lot of places along the Queensland coast - Cait
