What is truly ironic is that as many gospel songs as they sung, Lester Flatt never gave his life to Christ til just before his passing. The song by Ricky Skaggs "Why Did I Wait So Long" was written after Lester was saved. It was said that after that, all he could say way why did I wait so long.
