This is the one dude I've been unsold on in the top half of the lottery regarding his hype, mostly because there just aren't any good examples of franchise big men recently who can't play D. I was scared whoever took him would watch him turn into Okafor 2.0. You're the one who finally sold me on him. Now I'm just upset all over again that my Mavs got screwed in the lottery.

I watched this vid when he got drafted by Sac and now I came back to it right before the all star weekend. This analysis is 100% spot on. Everything that you highlighted as strengths, he’s doing well in the NBA (with the exception of shooting the 3). Everything you listed as a weakness (his weird phobia of using the right hand) is showcased each night. Nonetheless, he was a great pick by Sac and your analysis is 100% spot on. Great work.

I agree. I live in Phoenix and started following MBIII when he began his high school freshman season . As a Suns fan (go easy on me), I am a little disappointed that they didn't take him. Ayton is a great pick and will probably will have a quicker impact/ shorter learning curve with his freak long/athletic body. And while I think that both will be All-Stars within three-years, I believe Marvin will have had the better career when we look back on it in 12-15 years.

So I’m a hawks fan and I’m kinda stuck between Bagley and Jackson Jr. I think Bagley has a higher offensive ceiling and the new coach is prioritizing defense so he’ll most like improve if we draft him.

He’s got such quick feet & athleticism for a big. He is really relentless on the boards, like his energy & how he attacks the basket. He has a decent jumper & like that he is a lefty shooter. He needs to work on that right hand, but maybe the most NBA ready player in the draft.

I've watched every game of Bagley and the only thing I would say about his offensive game is that he's a bit repetitive in the post. Pass fake-hook, pass fake-dunk, basically he only does these 2 when he's in the post, he needs to expand his post moves arsenal - but he'll have the chance to do it in his rookie season. He definitely has to improve his free throws, he shoots a very bad percentage considering how often he goes to the line. Apart from that, he's my favorite player from this draft. He is always focused and never gives up. He plays well under pressure. Will be a very good PF in the NBA

+The Dime Drop If Duke's defensive troubles this past season aren't attributed to Bagley, then who would you credit them to? I'm personally out on Bagley, but you made some good points in your video. I still have serious doubts. #1 Besides Wendell Carter Jr, which other likely top 10 pick benefited from playing with a fellow likely top 10 pick? Not to mention, Duval, Trent Jr, Allen. At pretty much all times, Marvin Bagley's teammates seriously out-manned their opponents and were total mismatches for the opposition. Bagley essentially hung around the rim & ate dinner. Big deal. When he goes to the Suns, Kings, Hawks, Grizzlies, or Mavs, that advantage will be history. How's he going to score then? You didn't mention is horrendous free throw shooting; although, I will agree with you that his shot mechanics do suggest he can become a good, maybe even excellent shooter. But, I really think you overplayed his college dominance. You didn't give Carter Jr, Duval, Trent Jr, or Allen near the credit they deserve for that. In addition, name the NBA body that Bagley faced where he took that guy to task. Vs Wake Forest and their twin 7 foot towers, Bagley's production dipped in the 2nd game when those 2 combined for 55 minutes. Granted that's nit-picking a little, but it's also super fair to look at his big lines vs teams like UNC and realize he beat up on a pudgy, slow 6-8 White dude in Luke Maye and 6-6 Theo Pinson. No such unathletic 6-8 & undersized 6-6 tandems to be found for Bagley to feast on in the NBA.

I agree with taking Bagley over Ayton only if he shows touch on his outside shot during workouts. But I would take Mo Bamba 1st over both.

I've had the good fortune of seeing the best college BB over the last 40 years with season tickets to several ACC schools. Bagley is one of the best I've seen, slightly below Duncan. Offensively, he has Duncan's skills at this age. Defensively, not so much. He will definitely be better than Ayton over their careers. This guy is a baller and I agree with everything you said.

Honestly I'd love to see a team like the Rockets try to make a trade for him, trade Capela and their pick for a role player and the pick for Bagley, have Hakeem come and coach him on big man defense (one of the best defensive bigs EVER) then have the cap to sign Paul George so you have Cp3, Harden, Paul George, Bagley, and get a stand in paint protector like Bogut or someone

Been a kings fan my whole life. Watched a lot of losing teams and bad draft picks. I'm scared they're going to take Bagley and he'll be a bust. It seems like all he'll be able to do is run and dunk. We already have Willie cauley Stein to do that. Isn't Bagley not suited for today's NBA like Jackson or bamba would be?

People have to realize that alot if these players are 18-21. These players have time to fix holes in their games. Bagley, Porter, Ayton, Donic will all be very good or great.
