This is the 1st song that sucked me into the rabbit hole. Their drummer is an absolute unit btw. I have 0 musical ability at all but that guy legit makes me want to buy a drum set to try and learn.
This is the song that made me fall in love with Sleep Token. Now I have every song they have ever done in a playlist and I have it on shuffle cause they do not have a single bad song. My daughter and I are going to see them in May. I can't wait. ❤
Quick synopsis of the ST lore: The band is anonymous (though you can easily find out who they are if you do some research, the band members have never officially confirmed their identities, and it's generally considered bad form to talk about identities publicly). The lead singer goes by Vessel, and the other band members are Vessel II, Vessel III, and Vessel IV. Vessel had a dream about an ancient deity called Sleep, who promised him "glory and magnificence" if Vessel worshipped him. Their songs (all written by Vessel and the drummer, Vessel II) are tokens of worship to Sleep. Vessel stated, in the only interview he has ever given, “As musicians we are inspired by the human condition and a plethora of artists, but we are deeply moved by His words and continue to do our utmost to bring them to life. As followers we are bound by a duty to combine our crafts to create music that conveys some of our most primal, and powerful emotions.” You might notice some ST fans commenting, "worship" - it's our way of nodding to the lore and appreciating the musical genius!

I loved your comment on the lyrics at 4:09 because it's a great connection to the beginning lyrics of Chokehold, the first ST song you reacted to. "When we were made, it was no accident. We were tangled up like branches in a flood" their lyrics across albums have so many connections and it's always a treat to catch them!
There is a lore behind the band, Vessel and the masks as well as a story in the music. Once you really start to travel down the rabbit hole, you’ll start to make the connections in everything.
