I'm curious why you made face grain cutting boards instead of edge grain.. Face grain shows knife marks far more than edge or end grain which makes it easier for bacteria to grow and fluids to soak into the wood..
A lot more work for end grain and a lot of material Face grain cutting boards have been made for a long time and they're perfectly fine if the knife marks bother you after prolonged usage just take it out to the garage and sand it down and put some new oil on it it'll be alright and if you aint cleaning your cutting board after each use then that's a you problem lol
Good question but I make all kinds of different cutting boards because some people like them better a certain way so I try to open up a wide variety for people to choose from. Also any cutting boards I sell I make sure the buyers know that after a couple years or whatever the knife marks will take away its original look so I refinish it for them no charge when there ready to get rid of the knife marks.
@@Rogerswoodworkx Ahh.. I suppose offering a wider selection if you have the customer base does make more sense.. I'm just starting out myself and make mostly edge grain.. End grain gets too time consuming and can waste material if you aren't really experienced.. I appreciate the response!
