Since the Tories became active criminals in their greed to 'own' the Money Tree (our taxes) as they slip deservedly from the power they were granted by by limousine-hunting Liberal MPs, it really wouldn't surprise me if Grady was poisoned! My brother is on benefits. He unfortunately couldn't finish hi degree, has no real skills outside of retail work and lost his job due to covid. He's not a scrounger or "taking the piss", he's a hardworking guy who's had a rough start, but I'm trying to help him and there might be an opening at my workplace for an entry level position and I'm going to put his name forward. I know he can do it. Not everyone on benefits is bad.

I was on both the London poll tax marches and Paul was right, it was the police that incited the riot. It was a carnival atmosphere, everyone - police and demonstrators alike - being peaceful and happily marching along and singing. Then we got to Downing Street and the whole tone shifted, it just got oppressive, like a thunderstorm about to break. Then there's shouting and confusion and my little party put down our placards and left to become ordinary tourists. It was after seeing Buck House and walking down the Mall that we heard the noise in the distance, like a constant faint roaring. We met a group coming the other way who told us we don't want to go any further and what had kicked off. We made our way carefully back into the centre through backstreets and saw hundreds of riot vans lining the roads. We just happened to be around the corner in time to see the horses going in, as well as seeing how the police kettled everyone into Trafalgar Square with every exit blocked off.

Good on Chris Bryant for calling for the house to celebrate drag and recognise the role it has played in our culture. Send a message to the US with their politicians espousing such a weird obsession with what people wear and who they love.

@faithpearlgenied-a5517
@faithpearlgenied-a5517 Год назад
@@lukeharrop4620 Why? Should Paul have been banned from being around his daughter or his grandchildren when he was dressed as Lily Savage? What harm do you think it would do to them? People are still the same person whether they put on a dress or trousers. Try it. Put a little skirt on, Luke. I guarantee you won't suddenly turn into a danger to kids if you aren't already. If you genuinely care about children, what are you doing to help them? Priests are a much bigger danger to kids, what are you doing to keep them away from children? Most kids are abused and harmed by men who dress in men's clothing, why aren't you upset with those men and their outfits? You have such a weird and irrational fear of something which isn't a problem. Drag has been part of family entertainment for centuries, it's harmless fun. Get a grip and worry about the real issues.

Another legend and voice of the downtrodden gone, and, at only 67, far too soon. Paul O'Grady was a great fella and an even better lady for calling out the government's treatment of minorities. LGBTQ, black, disabled, poor, homeless, striking workers, et cetera, it didn't matter who, if they were suffering under government repression, Paul/Lilly was there to back them up! A people's champion, RIP. 😥

Thatcher is an example of power over people. When the North Sea oil fields lease were due for renewal, Norway decided to keep their oil rigs and became the country that we see today. Thatcher had an election coming up and see had promised tax cuts, and sold the British lease. We could of had a society similar to Norway, instead we have multiplying numbers of food banks. Her Tory ideology based on the economic theory of Milton Friedman, his theory that shareholder dividend over rides every aspect of life, no matter that it ruins the planet, causes the death of millions of people and drives people into poverty, shareholder dividend and privatisation is first and foremost, plus the ideology of Ayn Rand, which says that we are a nation of individuals, just as Thatcher said, charity is for fools and weaklings. The criminal cabal we have in Westminster today, is a perfect example of what a government can get away with, and enrich their billionaires donors at the same time. A society that has returned to Victorian times of poverty and hardship, people don't have enough to eat, today's announcement that they are sending the rest of the PPE masks and kits to the rubbish tip, seem to me that they are getting rid of the evidence of there crime and corruption. Mick Lynch and all the other union leaders are a shining example of what collective power can achieve. “Politicians know the poor exists when they are about to deliver the speech to the poor or when they seek sympathy or votes from the poor , but before or after that. They don't see the poor, because they are blinded by the money they are taking from the poor.” ― De philosopher DJ Kyos “The financial elite already have the politicians in their pockets, as a result of their lobbying.” ― Kenneth Eade, “Profit should never come at the cost of human blood. Any government that places profit before people is pure evil.” ― Suzy Kassem, Rise Up and Salute the Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem “Tory politicians are people who learn not to blink, when they lie.” ― Robert Black “Under every stone lurks a Tory politician.” ― Aristophanes

Until ‘her’ generation, those she bought votes from by flogging them off council houses cheap and who are today’s boomers, the most devout, nasty Tory supporters out there, finally die off, England will remain a right wing hell hole for the less well off. The Tories offer the under 50s nothing but pain, misery and a bleak future of high taxes, no job security and having to work until you drop dead
