If anyone is wondering, this is also called "Tinner's Fluid": ZnCl2 flux = hydrochloric acid (ammonium chloride) and a few tiny pieces of zinc. Let the zinc dissolve until it stops bubbling. It dissolves passivating oxides, exposing the clean metal surface.

specifically, it's HCL + zinc. HCL and the reaction fume is pretty poisonous, use safety gloves, mask, glasses, and do it outside

This was called "soldeerwater" (soldering water) in the Netherlands 65 years ago, and was sold under the name "S39". It was stopped because it was too corrosive.

Known in the U.K. as killed spirits, hydrochloric acid was known as spirit of salts years ago. Bakers fluid and most old time fluxes were made from it. Still the best, but wouldn’t recommend using on water systems, or electrical jobs because of corrosion.

El cloruro de Zink (qure es lo que preparaste), es un muy buen fundente porque ayuda aparete a disolver los oxidos que dificultan las soldaduras, pero todas las soldaduras que mostraste estan " frias", y eso es muy malo, nececitas proporcionarles mas calor para que te queden muy bien, suerte.

That was a lot of work....for to use a power source (the battery) that will eventually be used up, and the whole apparatus will have to go to the trash.....Nonetheless, it was a good science lesson.

Buenas tardes, otra forma de conseguir fundente para este tipo de soldaduras es usar lejía directamente .Se aplica unas gotas de lejía con un pequeño bastón o pincel sobre la superficie a soldar. USAR SIEMPRE GUANTES Y MASCARILLA. Yo no recomiendo usar estos métodos para soldar conexiones a una pila o batería, se puede producir un cortocircuito .

Chez moi ( à Portugal ) on avez l'habitude de faire nos même nôtres plaques de PCB. Il suffisait de les dessiner avec un marqueur et les plonger dans une solution de 2 produits que j'arrive plus à trouver. Vous n'avez pas un méthode simple pour le faire chez soi même SVP d'avance et bonne continuation.
