Just Wanting to help- Wander Over Yonder scene [Season Finale] 

I mean he works out later that she's lonely but she IS one of those people who just enjoys putting others through pain for the sake of it.

I think it was intentional because backstories are give some insight on why characters are the way they are. If Dominator was given a backstory the viewers would most likely try to sympathize with her or say something along the lines of “Dominator did nothing wrong” The only way people possibly wouldn’t sympathize is if Dominator was evil from birth for some unexplained reason.

She only wants destruction to the galaxy because people don't want her to destroy the universe and probably wants attention.

Questionable Potato i like to think that wander once was the ultimate evil, he did the same thing as dominator does but like so much worse. Then when everything was destroyed. He was left alone in the dark...

+Marguns21-Apparently, McCracken and co. wanted to leave Wander's history up to intrepretation so even if season three did happen as planned (but it didn't :*(), Wander's story would have been left unexplained. However, based on what little information sprinkled here and there, I doubt Wander was ever evil, although if he was at some point, that would have been very interesting and helps flesh out why he sees the good in everyone, even the worst villains. Just to me so far, it looks like Wander was deeply, deeply lonely, abandoned long ago, he may even the only one left of his kind. He was at his lowest point, the emptiest of his entire life where he had no one, nothing, and however he was able to get out of it, to stop being lonely, perhaps someone also helped show him the way once too, and he vowed never to be that lonely, that empty ever again. He also vowed to dedicate his life to making sure no one else felt that way ever the way he had to once, he wanted to make everyone he met make sure they always had someone they could count on, that they didn't have to be lonely and alone, abandoned so he realized before everyone that something like that once happened to Dominator, something happened to her that twisted her into a lonely, bitter psychopath, an empty person who believed that if she couldn't have, she could destroy, she could make everyone as empty and alone as she was but it still left her with nothing, no one.

Yeah this was scary for sure, the show had shockingly dark moments O_O’ I personally don’t see Dom as redeemable, and i like to think Wander comes to understand and accept that - because some people are truly without empathy, and you can’t be good without it. She’s a serial killer, LITERALLY. I imagine she blew up in the explosion on her ship and Wander had to make peace with the fact that some people don’t change, and he was nature’s gift to protecting trillions.

She doesn't care about any of that; she's the epitome of "If I have power, I'm going to use it," entitlement in its absolute.

It's the fact that she essentially has no idea what she's doing. She's just playing everything by ear. Usually big bad villains like this have a big master plan which they follow rigidly. She has nothing planned. She's just flying around destroying whatever she sees and collecting things which she can use to destroy more things. It reminds me of how one plays a video game. You just follow the story. You're not concerned about what you're supposed to be doing beyond what you're doing right now because you know it will all work itself out. It's a video game, that's how it works. And, that's why it's so unsettling. The inevitability of everything she does. And, she does it all like she's some cool hero.

Well, I will say this. If she DID succeed and destroy everything and everyone...what next? Oh, I'm sure for, oh, ten minutes or so she'd be ecstatic. But then she wouldn't have anything left to destroy or individuals to torment. No purpose. Nothing left to give her "joy". She'd just have to, like, build more robots to smash them, then rebuild them and smash them again and so on and so forth.

Actually, Dominator _did_ have plans for what to do after destroying the show's galaxy: _moving onto the next one._ The only reason she _didn't_ in the end was because destroying _this_ galaxy was the most fun she'd ever had doing exactly that; the place was literally _perfect_ to her! Watching a planet slowly die from the inside out is magical to her, yeah, but how much fun she has dominating a galaxy depends _heavily_ on how entertaining it is for her to chase, harass, and torture her favorite victims (which, in the present galaxy's case, were Wander, Sylvia, Hater, and Peepers - but _MAINLY_ Wander). Dominator thrives off of socialization, and, for her, _socializing with others = victimizing others._ She LOVED interacting with this galaxy's "dorks" and destroying all of their home planets, she enjoyed it more than she did doing the same thing to all of the other galaxies she's dominated (and _yes,_ the writer's confirmed that she's destroyed other galaxies before coming to this one), which is why she couldn't just move onto the next one like she did all those other times... this time was _different,_ it wasn't just great, it was _too great_ and she got _attached,_ and she ended up not wanting to let go, _not wanting it to be over._ Dominator wasn't flying around the galaxy and doing her thing with no endgame in mind, she fully expected everything to inevitably come to an end and having to move on when it did; what she _didn't_ expect was how hard it would be for her to do so, and _that's_ what lead to her downfall, *_the fact that she got attached to this goofy little galaxy and the dorks living in it thanks to how incredibly lonely she is..._*

Her answer would just be, "Well... you know... Volcanium.... it melts stuff." Not exactly a master plan. But, she didn't need it. That's what was so cool about her.

TheDisarminghinkle Oh, well Dominator actually does have extremely focused plans when it comes to destroying the galaxy. She's super passionate about it, and according to one of the writers, she _individually_ targeted the main characters, (the cold tag for the s1 finale implied that she'd been watching/stalking them for the _entirety of season one's events_), and _meticulously_ puts together strategies before carrying them out in order to "make them all seem effortless" when she does. There were plans for an episode that showed us all of this, but it ultimately ended up being unnecessary... (and probably would have run counter to where Hater and Peepers landed after The Cool Guy and The Axe, since the idea for the episode was Peepers leaving Lord Hater to join Lord Dominator _-and regretting it after realizing "how terrible the seemingly amazing Dom was first-hand")-_

Of course it does. Without destruction and sadistic domination, she's miserable. It shows she's a miserable person without her psychotic "high". A happy or content person doesn't need to constantly do one thing to be happy or content.

He's probably afraid she'll force him to reveal their location, probably through torture, and was willing to sacrifice himself to keep them all safe. That's how I always read it. Not that he was willing to actually die because he was embarrassed.

Both Major Threat and Sylvia started off as villains and now they're good. Hater are now 50/50. Dominator did have a slight change of heart at the end (there was a moment when she reconsidered choosing a different path). Perhaps Wander was right after all. He is probably much wiser than he looks.
