JF1 Has basically been put in the worst situation out of all the QB's in the rookie class when they came out. He's as talented as any QB in the league. He was one of the most exciting players in the league with a bad O line and WR's. They finally have surrounded him with some talent. This kid has been great on every level he's played and I expect this to continue in the NFL.

Worse than Trevor Lawrence with Urban Meyer? let's be serious. Trevor almost had his football career ruined by a coach that didn't to coach at all. At least Matt Nagy been to the playoffs twice with Mitch Trubisky as his QB.

@@Oxilus_B Trubisky played with a top 5 defense that got a ridiculous amount of turnovers. They won most games because of the defense. If Fields had a top 5 defense last year the would have won a few more games. The fact is the Bears defense last year was one of the worst in the league.

Justin fields was way more highly rated coming out of College than Jalen Hurts was. So why can’t he have that same level of explosive growth with a true WR1, a better offensive line and a coach who knows what their doing? I really think Justin fields is about to remind everyone why he was so highly rated coming out of Ohio state.

This comment right here. It's crazy how people often forget how much talent he had prior to playing 2 seasons with 2 different teams at this point. Matt Nagy year was a whole different system. This coming season will be his second year under a strong coach and GM who built it around him. Nagy and Pace never built around Trubisky. I'm sure if they had done that, and not spent all of their cap space on an injured Mack, Trubisky and the offense could have built onto the success they had in 2018. 12-4 that year. Didn't invest in the offense. Now it's being done for Fields. This is what made the superstar QB's the league has today. Don't be surprised if he has a breakout season.

It was this same 4 letter network who started this narrative last season that JF was a bad passer but good runner. It had everything to do with the horrible oline and lack of receivers, but too many people were convinced. @zarndt2134 10 месяцев назад
@@mikeanthony8122 Lets see, His Rookie Years. He wasn’t even named the starter. Didn’t practice with the 1s at all during Camp. Was not supposed to see the field. His Weapons were virtually non existent. Allen Robinson fell off a cliff. Kmet was not being used properly. And Matt Nagy Couldn’t call a Play if it was in Madden. Year 2. His weapons were a combination of players who never even saw the field. His o-line was a that of a D3 school at best. And yet he still was about 100 yards away from breaking the all time rushing yards as a QB. If you watch any games from last season you would see just how bad the team around him was. Its not like he had average players who could be elevated like in KC. No, these guys were meant to never see the field. A QB cannot do it all. Put any other QB in his situation from last season and you’ll see just how bad it was. But continue your casual takes.
@jasonjanisewski78
@jasonjanisewski78 10 месяцев назад
His weapons last year were underrated. Claypool and Mooney are decent or better. Kemet is solid, their RBs have been solid. The problem is that Fields stinks at completing passes due to poor pocket presence and all the other subtleties that it takes to play QB beyond purely physical ability.
@zarndt2134
@zarndt2134 10 месяцев назад
@@jasonjanisewski78 Thats such a poor take. Kmet was his best Pass Catcher. Claypool was awful. Mooney was consistently the only WR to get any Separation and he got hurt. Not to mention his pocket degradation was the fastest in the League. Simple Stats
@jasonjanisewski78
@jasonjanisewski78 10 месяцев назад
@@zarndt2134 Last year Fields had 2 solid Wrs, a solid TE, and decent RBs. Yes, Claypool looks worse once he joins a QB that struggles to complete passes. A WR can't throw it to himself. The Bears O Line isn't great, but he causes a lot of issues himself by being poor presnap, not being great at audibles and hot routes, having no degree of pocket presence, etc. I would love to find even 1 example in the Modern NFL of a QB for playing 15 games and averaged fewer than 150 passing yards/game in his 2nd Season and then became a star.

I think Fields has what it takes to tear people up. I think people aren’t understanding how much improvement being in an offense for consecutive seasons can boost your game. First year offenses are HARD to show great success. First year coach, first year offense, first full year as starter, middle of the pack O-Line, no true #1 receiver… you’re a fool if you think those things don’t add up. Bears we’re one score away in 7 games! That means a defensive stop in each game could be the difference between 3-14 and 10-7.

Ideally, in the conversation about Firlds and his production in this second year in an offensive scheme; his stats realistically are: 3700 passing yards, 69.5% completion pct, 27 pass TDs, 11 int, 850yds rushing, 8 rushing TDs, and a few 2pt conversions. Not sure if that qualifies as a "jump" in production. DJ Moore will get 1200 yards receiving in his sleep. The question will be, can Chi take advantage of the 40 yds out of TD range with Moore's skillset?

Fields is the Worst QB in the NFC North. As a GB fan, nothing would make me happier than CHI giving a long term, big money contract to a QB that regularly struggles to have 10 completions in a game. He is basically fast Tebow.

Contest don’t count for nothing with Justin fields, bears were basically the worst roster the last two yr. He has a good young receivers core now and a decent offensive line. Bears will be atleast a 8-9/ 9-8 team this yr. They pushed teams last yr.

As a bears fan and being from Chicago he's got to perform this year or he's gotta go...As fans we're not expecting to go to the superbowl but above 500 is a realistic goal..with great QB's in this upcoming draft (Drake maye) coming out he's got this year to prove himself b4 I feel like we should move on.
@LesPronto

If the team finishes below 500 that's on the team, not Fields. Everything isn't predicated from Fields. This is a team sport. So both the offense and defense has to perform. It also falls on the coaches and getsy as the play caller

If Justin Fields is ever to be successful, then it requires a trade to a team and organization that knows success. Chicao is where QBs go to die. Fields is athletic no doubt, but he isnt a great QB...yet, and needs proper coaching or you're just wasting talent. They wont trade him, so hopefully he survives until his contract is up and he can become a FA and head to a team that has a winning history, tradition and a smart front office.

Mahomes benefits from Andy Reid, Andy Reid benefits from Mahomes. Put Mahomes on the 49ers, the Cowboys, the Broncos, Saints, Bears, Chargers, Patriots, etc... and he's still a one of a kind passer with amazing arm talent, apex level field vision, looks off safeties like Brady while throwing from any arm angle. He's taking pretty much any team to the conference title game minimum

I don't understand how these so called experts seem to forget that Justin cannot win games alone. They talk about the offense so dang much but forget about the defense. The defense has to take a giant leap in order for the Bears to win as well not just Justin. The Bears scored 30 points in a few of those losses bcuz the defense didn't hold up. Let's not put the onus only on Justin.
