Honestly, I'd be more worried if the offense wasnt there since they're the ones who need it the most. The defense, I'm not so worried. 10 of the 11 starters are returning & it's a defense most know. I get talking up Dalton but he's not gonna beat out Fields for the starting job.

Matt Nagy is not a good head coach

Most of the offense was there. I wonder if Hicks was the driving force behind staying home. Regardless, it illustrates they are a cohesive unit.

I can tell you right now that Justin Fields is built to establish a new culture. Been a huge fan of his since he was in highschool. He is the man for this.

The 17 games is a good reason for the defence to take this time off.. They're no good to us if they are beat up after that 17th game and can't push into the playoffs.

I understand the labor drama. I understand COVID. This team needs every practice Rep possible. I hate that Nagy gave away a week. I am not saying they have to hit hard, but they have to be there if they want to win. I am happy the O showed up. I am happy Roquan showed up.

The second Naggie said Dalton is the QB and did not say it was a competition, just like every position. This created entitlement, I feel sorry for Fields ending up with this staff, Looks like Naggie is much less of a coach than Ryan Day is at Ohio State. I get the impression Fields is a better coach than Naggie

Very disappointed in our defense. We have players on our defense making 10’s of millions per year and they showed our fan base today that they’re only there for the pay day. They just screamed from the rooftops that they’re not interested in the “team” and that they’re only interested in paychecks. Such a number for our new DC. I’d look to overhaul the whole damn squad.

Trubisky getting rave reviews in Buffalo OTA's. I will follow Mitch this year, hope he does well, gets a chance during the season. If Fields never outperforms Trubisky, the issue is IMO Chicago writers and fans creating 'hostile, over pressured environment'.

I think it’s good that guys like Tonga are getting more reps cause they need to grow as good backups. All the others are starters for sure. They’re all elite. We don’t want to risk then getting hurt. Having our backups train with the team is fantastic

I would imagine the d didnt show because they tired of carrying the team and need the rest of the offseason to recover from playing hurt 90% of the year. The offense definitely needs all the work they can get.

Dan and Brad are pushing the corporate line. Voluntary should not mean anything else than voluntary.

I would also add that this defense was trending in the wrong direction last year. I find it disappointing too.

The Defense has been on the field for 3yrs straight almost the whole game. With the 17th game, there taking there time coming into this season.

I see a lot of comments about why are these guys making a deal about low turnout at voluntary practice but their point is being missed here. If you want to be a championship team then EVERYTHING is important. EVERY opportunity needs to be exploited. If you’re not worried about turning over every stone to gain an advantage on you competitors then you’ve already lost.

The defense shut down when Trashbisky failed Bradley... Then our GM almost traded like three of them for Russell Wilson... these guys feel disrespected when Fields takes over and we score more regularly the D will come alive... I’m 180 on Mack, I gave him a hard time and it’s time to support him he took a pay cut and works so hard at his craft... it pays off the next two years 14 sacks plus... Read the deeper on the moods dude...

.500 culture is spot on... The competitiveness and edge an NFL player and team has to have to get to the top is a truly herculean effort..."sitting at the house eating Bon Bon's" so-to-speak (not literally) while half the team is practicing isn't going to get it done. I had the impression that Kahlil Mack was a transcendent player in terms of effort and professionalism was truly unique and special...it is not; as actions speak louder than words....and they are playing a freaking game!

Maybe it's time for the fans to just wait. Like Aaron Rodgers had to wait and Steve young .give him the time he needs to develope especially if your expecting greatness .!!!

These workouts are VOLUNTARY and the NFLPA has been strongly advising players not to go. If you want to encourage players to show up then provide camp bonues to their contracts

I would Not Lose Sleep over it The D. I would Love them to be there, but I worry more about things like Linebackers losing a Step or 2 IE last Year sending Danny T in Coverage when you should of had another DB on the field- Pagano Had the D in some Bad Situations

Coaches should really try everything they can to favor the guys who show up to get field time

Pretty ignorant perspective on OTA attendance by these guys if you consider how quite honestly, the defensive unit doesn't need to prove anything versus the offense... not to mention the fact we're in the middle of a pandemic.

I agree it seems like .500 culture. Roquan seems like the only guy who REALLY wants to win, and that describes the Bears defense pretty well for the last 2 years in general. Mack, Hicks and Quinn are showing exactly what it takes to be mediocre, and they’ve shown it on the field.

Also, Biggs says you're not gonna see the shit with Dalton you saw in the Trubisky era...what?? Look at the stats, Trubisky was considerably better than Dalton last year: comp %, YPA, TD/INT, every stat.... Dalton couldn't even get a more talented roster out of the NFC East, Mitch brought the Bears back into the playoffs...Dalton brings more experience than fields definitely but Biggs is talking about Dalton like he's Manning coming back for one more run. When the defense doesn't show up, its a clear indication that the "team" is okay with being mediocre. If that is true, the "team" should be sold to an owner that is committed to winning.

I forsee the defense coming out of shape weighing 400lb apiece saying put us in coach were ready . Bears lose first season game 45 - 24.

Players see through that shit, they saw what happened at 2-0, nothing changed bc they drafted a QB...you're seeing a boil over from the end of last year, the team is frustrated with the coach in my opinion

OK YALL, LETS BE HONEST! The coaches, players, and media, will be able to tell right away who should start. Justin fields will make it easier for Nagy to start him day one! First of all, fields has publicly said that he want the starting job, and second, talent wise....there miles apart!

The defense wasn't number 1 last year. As far as I'm concerned it's you're either the best or you show up.(even if it is optional) Considering the defense wasn't even top ten last year I'm not exactly excited for this next year of defense which will probably regress even further.

News flash defense doesnt need the help, why come to walk through have the coaches do that, when we put pads on and the defense isn't there thats a issue not for voluntary camp when you know your not getting any work on defense.
