The thin eyebrow trend needs to be held accountable for the irreparable damage that was inflicted on all the unsuspecting brows of the early 2000s! The trend slipped out the back door when no one was looking, leaving my brows looking like sperm, and they still haven't recovered to this day. It's a travesty and I want justice!
I know a lot of middle aged gals who still have the spermies, and I don't have the heart to ask, did they not grow back or do you know know that trend sailed a LONG time ago. Mine are patchy to this day. Damn skinny brows.
I tweezed my brows in high school and they have literally not grown back. I stopped years ago and don't tweeze at all but they're gone forever so I have to draw them on now (I have halfass really sparse ones) 😭
Ladies, dont worry. The current huge thick brows trend will not last forever...it has already receded from its zenith, when the teenager cashing you out at CVS always looked like she had drawn big rectangular cartoon eyebrows on her forehead with dark brown magic marker that morning. Eventually, it will shift to a more moderate style where your sparse brows arent so difficult to whip into the fashion profile.
Picture it- high school in the year 2000- everyone looked like hot trash. No one used skin care other than neutrogena bar soap and Oxy pads. The trend was bleaching one's hair, but NO ONE knew about toner, so everyone had brassy yellow mops. Foundation was two tones off, and was applied with the fingers in a swirling motion all over the face, NO POWDER. It really was a potential problem, and it was tech scientists who were raising the alarm. IT specialists spent a lot of time and effort creating patches to try to avoid any major problems.

@@suzylovesmambo I work in IT now but my boss who was already in IT at that time said that the government really made sure that the computers were especially patched in hospitals, because that would be catastrophic to some patients. Even making sure that the medical records and medicine dosage of each patient doesn't get blipped by midnight into 2000 because the computers thought it's year 00 was something they had to address and make sure each single server and computer were sent patches.

You already mentioned some of these but the following is a list of just a few of my y2k fashion blunders: -scenster/hipster bangs -frosted/foundation lips with absolutely no blush (I looked like a ghost) -thin brows (I’m so grateful mine grew back… mostly) -the lowest of low rise jeans -lacy camisole spaghetti strap tops -small rectangular handbags -studded belts -Uggs -those rimless pastel colored see-through sunglasses with Swarovski hearts and stars -Swarovski everything -Von Dutch trucker hat (though in my defense that was a micro phase for me) -velvet sweatsuits -cargo capris -dark denim EVERYTHING -fedoras and poufy newsboy caps -pleather -dresses over jeans!! My mother still has this eyebrows, she is now 73, never grew back. She always reminds me of not plugging my eyebrows and I never did! Though her overall styling is bomb, better than mine, it’s a talent!
GIRL YES. I also hate shiny lipgloss! I only go with regular lipstick because eating my lipgloss when I'm trying to eat my food or getting my hair stuck is a mess.
The one I think you missed is the spiky updos! Like ones with the big claw clips and the fake spiky hair bands that went around your bun. I feel like fake hair had a real moment- it wasn't like extensions today where you want it to look blended and natural. These were obviously fake and just meant for fun! I think I had one with pink synthetic hair and tinsel back in the day.

Ohmygosh! I did the hair bump for sooo long! I had these long thin Goody barrettes that I used to make the bump. I’d tease it, push it forward then use one barrette. Then held pushed forward, I’d slide the second barrette in parallel, but from the opposite direction. It would hold all day and night- with tons of hairspray though.

Nah Xtina and Gwen took their eyebrows off. They were probably shaved so they grew back better than when people plucked snd waxed them. But they’ve also have micro blading snd eyebrow implants since.
