This is HUGE. I think you're spot on about cooking the books. They will report a huge increase in the preaching work without any actual data to prove it.

I can't believe Samuel Heard has the cheek to say how we shouldn't judge a person based on what they give and everyone has different abilities and circumstances etc. But that's exactly what it was like when I was growing up. The constant guilt and the constant feeling of not doing enough. The little tricks the pioneers had to do to make every second count to their time. And now they've decided to scrap it! Witnesses have it so easy now lol Now they decide to apply a Bible principle for this decision? They use scripture as and when it fancies them!

It's a sign of being in an abusive relationship when the victim feels somehow grateful to their abuser for not abusing them quite so much.

And yes, you're right Riley, they're embarrassed of the steep decline in active publishers.

Legal reasons should be considered as well. So the can say we don't keep records.

Honestly shocked at this one. I was congregation secratary, and the Circuit Overseer made us obsessed with figures. I would have to do a 6 month average. Hours, Rv, BS placements. Then for any possibly being appointed MS/elder the same. But I agree with you - this is to cover over the massive decline in ministry and number of publishers. They have probably had so many write in over the years and say counting of hours is unscriptural. Then they would produce an article saying it’s scriptural. And now…..it’s unscriptural! What on earth is going on in these guys brains? I honestly think they are anything but discreet. Only faithful to themselves. I think they will die out soon cos they certainly won’t get anymore growth only born ins. Let’s hope. Great video man.

Best thing I ever did was leave this evil organisation in January 2022. I left due to the Australian Royal Commission but in my 15 years never did "Pioneer" or "Auxillary Pioneer" as I did not believe in titles. I told them that in my resignation letter. Leaving the organisation does not mean leaving God and Jesus. I have met more "christians" and decent people since leaving. In fact I would say God has blessed me more and is exposing this false organisation to the world through their own arrogance and stupidity! In fact the "Great Crowd" are probably all of us who have left due to the ill treatment we endured for way too long. They are bullies and the world is disgusted by their shunning and abuse cover ups. But I think this is a positive change, allowing JWs a bit of escape. I remember those days of using flimsy JW conversations to keep our time going. Now just one such conversation can count for the whole month! Lol

I was a JW, and I remember just as I was starting to wake up in 2019 I had a shepherding visit and was asked how many hours did I think am averaging a month? I was thinking to myself where are they getting counting hours from? I used to hate the ministry and was relieved when I became dis disfellowshiped.

Wow! Me too. I've been at my present address for 2 years. In all this time, I got 1 memorial invitation badly folded in half and slightly scrunched up.

They won't have to publish the annual report with all the decreasing numbers either???

My personal feeling is that yes, this is so they can begin to phase out the congregation field service arrangement, however, I think it's more to do with CSA. This way they can say that they don't have children in care. It's usually about money

This is no surprise to me. My abusive ex husband never did his hrs he was meant to do he even asked me to record his hrs saying his mini were his customers i said NO as a once upon a time regular pioneer i gave 8 yrs my youth to this cults ideology. With no hour reporting requirements, expect an influx of "jumped up" ministerial servants and elders who only have to tick a box each month, and no hoops to jump to qualify! I'm sure it will attract power hungry brother's who want their bit of narcissist authority!

Will this also help the governing body to be able to claim they don't know who is out door to door because there is no requirements for it and will that makes it easier on them in regards to CSA preditors within the congregations?

How do they get new recruits? The only public persona for the JWs to outsiders was their door knocking. Without that, they are basically invisible as a religion. I would imagine we are in the foothills of the religion going entirely online.

So true about not seeing the witnesses around. It used to be a daily occurrence. I have front door cameras so I know who has called. In the past 3 years the witnesses have been once and the poor woman knocked the door so quietly I would never have known she was there if I hadn't got the video evidence!

Just subscribed. I was blowen away by this "new light" I think also because probably hours from publishers are down. In number terms the Median is the average between the lowest number and the highest number. If it's only the Pioneers that are required to report time, then the average of hours in field service will go up on the reports. I wouldn't be surprised in a later broadcast if they pull this out and say "The hours of services have gone up, and with 1000's of new bible studies" (as the sheep become thrilled with excitement). Bad enough the doomsday message but hearing "We are living in the final part, of the final part of the last days shortly before the final part of the final last day" (however it was said). It's almost like someone using the promise of "never never ever ever never ever ever never do that again" lol

The numbers are too low to report. Especially since the pandemic. Also low numbers of people getting baptized. Whole families are leaving since the pandemic

There was a census taken for the nation of Israel 3 times. There were only 2 times that God - YHWH ordered a census: 1) Numbers: 1:1-54 - 2:34; 3:1-49 states that God told Moses to take it and to use it to place the Israelites in a specific formation. 2) Numbers: 26:1-63 states that God again told Moses to take another census, this time for dividing land amongst themselves. 3) 1 Chronicles 21:1-28 states that King David ordered a census WITHOUT God's approval. God saw it as "evil" and punished David AND the nation of Israel SEVERELY because of it. Therefore, if these Governing Body members, whom they arrogantly refer to themselves as , "G.O.D.s" (Guardians Of Doctrine... I'm not making this up) were so inspired by holy spirit, and truly 'guarded the doctrines' of God, why is it, do you think, that for so many years, they forced the "publishers" (JWs who spread the JW literature and doctrines to potential new recruits) to count time on that work? Also, why is it, that those socalled 'inspired governing body' members also included counting the number of people who attended ANY kind of meeting - AND - counting the NUMBER OF WITNESSES in the entire organization?????? If they were so inspired and so well read in the Bible, WHY, do you think, they ignored the Bible's accounts, hence, warning about doing so?????? These are a mere fraction of the "evil" deeds that JW leaders were/are guilty of before the MOST HIGH GOD they claim to represent.

They’ve been trending this way for a few years - it’s been diluted more and more “pioneer” has been rather meaningless for a while. You could quote a scripture when you order pizza and call it “phone witnessing”

I think this 'loving provision' will result in splitting congregations: die-hard pioneers etc. and second class 'once-in-a-month' witnesses. I even suspect some 'new Light' considering these First and Second Class witnesses. The First Class getting more privileges, maybe even in the New World: - early bird resurrection - free pandas - First choice of home (the one you fancied when going door-to-door) -early access to famous people from Bible - not having to work in the New System (the Second will have to do that) I know this sounds stupid, but with Watchtower you never know....

think it’s a business strategy they are restructuring it. The preaching work is low since C19 and they know that many are reporting incorrect hrs. With this arrangement they are also diving the JW into classes now: the pioneers and the normal publishers. Oh and definitely will not admit that time reporting is NOT biblical. Now publishers only will need to TICK! 😂🤣 They are desperate to retain JWs leaving. In my family 7 out of 10 are out so far since 2019- all fading! You're right that the members will now see casual phrases as full-on publishing. "I don't smoke" or "I can't go Thursday evening" with no explanation will count as a full month's ministry. It's a joke.

They are trying to make it easier to be a JW no preaching time.Also need to stop judging each other so much. I heard stop being judgmental towards Ex JW and DF ones too because most of them are good people despite not being a active JW. Also heard no more telling JW when Armaggedon coming and judging others if not a JW you will die. God suppose to judge not the GB/JW.. Yes preaching is stopping on its own and the cart witnessing is sad replacement. Also lots of homeless and mentally insane people wondering around ; last year in US someone got shot in JW preaching. Next hope stop the shunning! they will make JW videos and get donations from their members then. Also heard build tunnels under Bethel in NY state and in Australia ..but why?
