Watchtower's RACIST Past! 

Thank you for exposing the shocking racism in Watchtower's history. Even since 1919 they have clearly been nothing more than a manmade organization led by deeply flawed humans. They have not even proven to be exceptionally good by humans standards. There were "worldly" people back then who were more racially tolerant and progressive than Watchtower. Shame on them!

I'm a white guy, my wife is black. We both woke up this year. It's boils my blood that there's so many witnesses that have no idea they said any of this stuff. Especially Black witnesses that I know view us as apostates. Riley, I just want to say thanks for all your hard work and activism.

I grew up in a White American / Mexican American house, in a JW family, and there were always issues for me and my family integration with being 'mixed race' when it came to even the way congregations remained segregated in many ways in the US. In any case, I see the relevance beyond the reasons it disproves the GB's claims because my lived experiences showed me my family had to overcome the racist undertones of modern JW culture. However, lastly, you are brilliantly good at presenting honest scholarship, and I have a lot of appreciation for activists like you whose voices give so much weight to these discussions directly. Excellent and disturbing program which needs known. Thank you. I was born in 1953, raised as JW and my elder father did not like blacks and told us we could not date them. I challenged him as I did on so many topics. I left 41 years ago and mentioned his attitude in my memoir published last year.

Another reason why this is so still very relevant is this : Why, in over 140 years, has there only ever been ONE non-white member of those who 'take the lead' in the WT organization??? I use the term 'non-white' to include any other person from any race or culture that does not have white skin. (Acts 10:34-35; Revelation 5:9) PS .....And the ONLY non-white person wasn't appointed until 1999 - so that's over 120 years without a single person of colour . This fact combined with the comments in your video, clearly show a bias towards white skin and indicate it is a man-made organization and not from God.

My father grew up in the south in the 50s and 60s and remembers segregation in the congregation. He said they were following the “laws” at the time. Well why is it okay to follow a law that goes against the Bible principles to love our brothers and sisters yet they are perfectly willing not to follow laws like the whole Mexico and Malawi or the bans in certain countries?

Iam happy that I left this Organisation after 37years Services as ministarial Servant and Elder. 2019 I left with my family Members and today with my 79years of age, I am happy that we all left the Organisation in Germany where I leaved . Free from waisting our Time and Energy on the Street or House to House where noone is ready to talked to us.

Wow, I never thought that the Watchtower Society of Jehovah's Witnesses would teach racism against blacks. That really shocked me. If Jesus Christ were here now, He would rebuke the Watchtower Society for this sort of thinking. Thank you for this eye-opening video.

Also, Jehovah's Witnesses were racially segregated and proud of it. Black people would have to sit in designated sections of Kingdom Halls. Black people had to door knock in black neighborhoods only. Bethel gave black people the more physically demanding tasks. The Civil Right Act of 1964 in the U.S. was supposed to end these practices nationwide but it took Watchtower a bit longer to accept blacks as equals to whites, racial equality went against their strong beliefs. If it wasn't for "Satan's system" they would of kept treating black people as subhuman.

This expose uncovers more of the "true colors" (pun intended), of this organization! I'm a Bi-racial woman (dad was Caucasian mom was African American). I then married a Caucasian man, with whom I have two very intelligent, handsome, kind, loving, hardworking, honest hearted, fun, generous human beings both of whom we adore. So.............. I can not put into words what this did to me. WOW!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS EXPOSE!!

As an EX JW, I am still truly disgusted of what has been written in relation to people of other races in past publications including the way the Organisation views and treats women and even the recent cases of Worldwide Child Sexual Abuse is both sickening and disturbing. I feel Jehovah has left the Organisation as it’s bad fruitage is becoming more evident - exposed by the Internet and the Organisation written material in past and current publications.

Growing up in the 70/80s I remember my parents telling me that black people came from Cains side. It was part of their curse so to speak. Witnesses want to act like they are so loving and open minded. Well I know they are not.

Don't Surprise me at ALL.They use to not let blacks get baptized in the same pool.Say What? Take them to another location.

My children are mixed. My mother, Caucasian, a jw, absolutely adores them. Can't wait for an opportunity to bring up the hybrid despicable thing to her. Makes me sick to my stomach...

I knew something wasn’t right because I told my one of the members I wanted to grow dreadlocks and he said you can’t become a unbaptized publisher with dreadlocks so that mean you can’t get baptized with dreads or braids. I was shocked.

What a great video, so well researched. Theres a few JWs I would like to send this to but not sure they would watch it as the org spends so much time telling them not to watch anything of this nature, but Im sorely tempted as you put such valid points across in such a straightforward way. Hello, I trying to find the June 26, 1929 article. My great uncle has been a Jehovah's Witnesses for over 80 years, and I would like to show him this. He has asked me do I believe Jehovah's Witnesses are the truth. Thank you.

This is breaking my ❤🥲🥹 I’m a white woman with a biracial daughter & 3 black grandchildren. It’s 2023.. I was verbally abused by an ex JW. only yesterday… according to him I am white trash & a F****ng slag . My ex partner was called an unrepeatable, derogatory, inflammatory name. This experience has deeply impacted me to the point i almost feel dysfunctional. Considering the historical definition of the term ‘white trash’ This slur would deem me to be impoverished, uneducated & of a lower socioeconomic class. Conversely I am an independent nurse prescriber, my son is a medical nutritionist, my daughter in law is a teacher and my mum and brother are professors. Clearly this insult wasn’t based entirely on the appalling description detailed above, but more on the horrendous stereotype of a white woman being perceived as a slag & white trash for loving a black man. This was an insult not only towards me, but this was abhorrent, racist, abusive behavior directed towards black men, implying a clear class & cultural distinction between the white supremacist and a black man. Shocked, hurt & incredibly upset is an understatement💔

All you say here is true, when I was pregnant with my first child, ( my non jw husband was brasilian/African/ Tupi ) many jws worried about how dark my child would be, and how difficult it would be for the child to fit in with society, ( I was in a small town in Canada) and yes I remember being told about the KKK on the canadian radio, a single sister from Trinidad Tobago, special pioneer, was given almost a cold shoulder and looked at sideways by the cong. Imagine being black AND a jehova witness in the Duplessis area omg 😳 she really enjoyed coming over and listening to brasilian music, she showed me to cook some of her recipes, we were softly given the suspicious eye 👀 😆

I was raised in this religion my parents got me at the age of six months and there were thirteen of us in all none of us are Jehovah's Witnesses to this day and we knew more about the bigots who founded this religion than we knew about My adoptive mother's black history our black history for example her great-great-grandfather was sold 45 minutes from where we lived in Fayetteville North Carolina at a slave market that still stands to this day but this cult micromanage us so much that we didn't even have time to learn proper schooling we were home-schooled our homeschool books were Watchtower and awake publication the name of our homeschool was Bethel homeschool and when I decided to leave at the age of 17 because of the abuse and I was an active Pioneer at the time my so-called Jehovah's Witness parents held my high school diploma from me I had to go to Job Corps to get a GED we were as children showcase around like an oxymoron 13 kids home schooled on so many assembly programs but no one took the time to call it for what it was abuse sleep deprivation starvation even molestation and I personally was abused so severely by my mother and father that I can never have children of my own but this is the true religion that hides its racist intent from the beginning that turns a blind eye when children are being abused it really is sickening I am 3 years disfellowshipped because I smoked cigarettes because I have anxiety ,depression, PTSD Phantom pains ,night terrors, Stockholm Syndrome and because I'm going to therapy I'm learning that this religion had a big role in my trauma even to the point that I have gone no contact with my family it's been two years smh the aftermath the damage that this religion leaves is traumatic to say the least and then I have a parent that is still a active witness who can do no wrong her nose stuck so far up in the air that she had the nerve to say because she's a Jehovah's witness that Jehovah will never let anyone hurt her so puffed up with pride forgetting the abuse and Trauma she put on me and held me down so my father could put on me but anywho thank you my dear brother for this video sending much positive and tranquil energy your way!

Look, I hate this vile org but these men were products of their era... Russell of the mid 1800s being an upsurge of enlightenment and intellectualism. R,ford in a time of social upheaval, as in socialist communism and nazism. R,ford's first letter to Hitler was close to gushing praise. So these attitudes were pretty much the way of the world, which strangely shows they were totally influenced by the worldly attitude as the vehicle for "their Truth" It's not that it was a long time ago but that it was of the times.... The greatest example of their truly deadly serious racism was the "set up" of the brothers in deepest darkest Malawi.... They were seen as expendable for the elevation of the persecution complex to propagandize the rank and file worldwide.... All the other stuff is just the colidascope of life that people live through and endure. This modern social justice warrior thing demeans those who have been and gone and endured real life through all sorts of injustice and I'll tell you something else mate they we're bigger than you or I.... My goodness, you're picking on long forgotten past, completely missing the point. Jehovah's Witnesses started to leave the false teaching of the world, the religions then, and the process is still ongoing. Even they, they learned to love each other, regardless of colour, but often based their articles on available knowledge, and ideas. That's what the world looked like then. At the moment, while the world sees the racist ideas thrive again; the hatred hit the roof, Jehovah's Witnesses are a group of 8 million people who refuse to fight anybody, who constantly learn to love people of all races. And what do you apostates do? All you can to discourage people from that. And your trying to judge the then-world by today's standards is amateur and resulting in misjudgment, of course.

All 3 sister cults share the same embarrassing history...JW's, Mormons, and SDA's.
