Hey a easy way to have A/C without losing any power or space is to put a Electric Compressor from a prius or any other car with one. I am doing that for my classic mini and it saved me lot of space from the engine bay and about 8 hp from my 75 hp engine 😂✌

The FD has a 20 gallon tank?! Holy smokes, that means with the K-swap, this car might average 30mpg on the highway, and 20 gallons equals a 600 mile range! That's diesel and hybrid territory! Idk if I'm just getting old but that may be the best part about this swap.

On a car that light, I'm thinking more like 35mpg highway. My 2900lb k20z3 civic gets 36mpg sitting at 4000rpm on the highway.

And then Abom79 if you like competent machinists. Mills, lathes, shapers, welding (Spray welding from a few months ago was neat) your list is similar to mine, so thought you might like those since they also had uploads today that you didn't mention.

That car was a different color, Black iirc. His FD also had front end damage and a bent frame rail. The subframe he made was also way prettier than that

I have no complaints about previous owner doing weird thing because it shows he didnt have enough budget to work on it, you are privileged enough to have advance auto and k-tuned on your side and you can have infinity amounts of bolts so at every point blaming the previous owner for your special project seems a bit cocky from you ben. 18:44 really changed your image for me now i am not hater but i think you should stop cussing the previous owner since he is not less of a car enthusiast as you are he was just broke and ended up selling this to you. If anything you should be thankful.

The best thing to do is not worry about how flat the flanges are until after the engine is broken in or the manifold has a few 100 miles on it. The thermal cycles can warp things too but they'll find their happy place after a while and that's when you want to surface them to avoid leaks.

Why does everyone keep saying the K24 is lighter than the 13b? A fully dressed 13b is just a hair over 300lbs while the K24 is just a smidge off from matching weight with an LS1. Not saying I don't like the build. By all means get her on the track because she deserves to breathe again but as a rotary guy that argument burns my soul.lol

Initially my opinion on a K Swapped FD wasn’t a nice one......but just as always Gears and Gasoline have convinced me and proved to me that the people are what makes things seem ‘bad’ as an impression, but whether or not it’s actually ‘bad’ is another matter. And so, a K swapped FD is perfect.

Well I know from experience that on a FD moving the rack more than a inch forward messes with the akerman so badly but u can make some adapters on the end to put the arms back in the correct position....... let me guess you were getting scrubbing tyres on a lock anti akerman to the extreme

To be honest, some might love the k swap fd, some might not, but regardless of the engine in what chassis, the work and involvement of everybody is astonishing. Andy is amazing, but I'd like to thank Gear and Gasoline for sharing this with us with such passion and dedication filming and editing I think we don't realize enough how much work it is (and how much money goes into those parts and cars). Omg I am so glad you are building this for the street with all the creature comforts. So many people skip those things. they may end up with an incredibly beautiful car but then it's almost undrivable due to the lack of power steering the lack of AC and driving on incredibly hot or humid days. The lack of a heater so you don't have any defrost for days when it's foggy. Loving the way your car looks is one thing. but loving to drive your car is another and if you're not comfortable driving your car it makes it very difficult to love.

You're replacing everything, why struggle with the one component that you are going to use everytime you shift or stop? I mean what are the odds that it's going to last much longer. If your wondering why I would put a rotary in a miata. I felt like it. And it is just beutifule when you launch the car into a drift.
