Damn bro this vid couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me, I literally just bought one today for my ek along with the knob!! Thanks for all the insight! I'll post a vid soon using all the great input I learned today! I'm also doing the door panels!
Yeah I saw that too. Pretty keen on getting one myself. I'll have to look at my linkages, bushings and selector first. My shifter can't even move into the reverse position. It's like there's a wall where someone deleted the ability to move into the reverse gear.
Would the same parts work on a bseries shift linkage ? for a eg? im having an issue for my 1992 sedan my shifter falls low enough to hit my exhaust and its definetly my dust cover cause its torn.
Does the dust boot and other plastic piece help with slack too because i just bought the lean bak ktuned shifter and i got the vms red bushings but i still have a lot of slack i did a at to mt coversion on my 95 eg
Hello HSG, I have a question for you I hope maybe you can help. I have done all of what you have demonstrated in the video (replaced everything with brand new parts including a new B-pin) and I still have some slop. when I'm in gear i get a side to side slop still... I went under the car and it looks like the side to side play when I'm in gear is coming from the input rod that connect into the shift change holder assembly in the transmission. How do I eliminate this side to side slop? do I need a new Shift Change Holder Assembly?
@hondastreetgarage which one is better I have an eg what ktune shifter is better everyone says go with Version 1... I need to make my shifting smoother
I've had both in my hatch and personally I prefer the pro circuit (ver2) because I prefer my shifter on the taller side. But it also feels more sturdy and positive. The weight makes shifting a breeze especially with a weighted knob. The ver1 is great but needs to sit lower to feel as sturdy. With the ver1 fully extended and weighted knob it didn't feel as positive going from gear to gear but did feel better when set lower. I guess it depends on your height preference but if I had to choose I'd say ver2.
+Honda Street Garage hey u might know this I'm tucking and shaving my engine bay I welded the holes Bondo over everything now I was going to fiberglass everything good idea or no ?
You claimed the eg's dont have that problem but you are absolutely wrong. They have that same exact problem. When I put mine in like 4-5 months ago I had the same problem with it sitting close to my dash and also the tallest setting is the shortest throw and I got that info off of the K Tuned website so I doubt they lied about that lol. The brass ball allen bolt should have lock tite on it so it wont loosen up. I also got that info off the K Tuned site.
Ok. The reason I claimed the eg civic doesn't have the problem is because we have 2 eg coupes with the K tuned shifter and they do not get near the dash. However I assume if you have the pivot ball set low enough it could have that problem. With regard to using loctite on the Allen screw for the brass pivot ball, I was aware of it but did not mention it in the video due to the fact I personally was not sure where I wanted to place the ball while I was shooting. Also this is not a licensed Ktuned install video. This is me filming my experience with the product. I apologize if you feel the video contains misinformation.
