I haven't received the instructions email from the embassy. Instead, I proactively monitored the status of my case on CEAC and reached out to the US Embassy in Nairobi via email. After a few days, they provided me with the necessary details for my case. Despite following the instructions provided by the embassy, I faced challenges securing an interview within the required timeframe due to time constraints and potential backlogs. I managed to secure an interview for June 11th after several delays. Currently, I've completed my medicals and am in the process of compiling my documents and reviewing the FAQs. Additionally, I'll need to obtain an amended intention to marry from my petitioner (fiancé) to fulfill the requirements of I-129F. My advice is to proceed with gathering your documents and consider booking an interview with the Nairobi embassy if possible. Keep in mind that it may take two days for payments to be reflected on your account, and while desired interview dates may not always be available immediately, it's important not to be discouraged or delayed by this.

Hello. Congratulations on your visa approval! I got my passport and visa by courier service within a week i.e my interview was on Friday and by end of the following week I had received my passport/visa. I'm not sure if maybe the timelines have changed...

I received my K1-FTP on 29th Aug 2023 and got my embassy letter on 8th Sep 2023.

Hello. I believe that, that would be a personal decision. It also depends on where you selected as your courier service location for your approved visa collection. Evaluate on either waiting from Kenya or going back to UG then see which has the most financial implications for you. Also, maybe ask around from fellow Ugandans to find out how they navigated this particular process because I believe that there might be a more simple solution. I believe it's time saving and money saving to stay in Nairobi after the interview to have your visa at once than traveling back to Uganda then back to Kenya again for the visa packet. My interview is March though, that is what I plan on going.

I ended up spending KES 45, 403 ($ 354.02) but they had requested me to have KES 70, 000 ($ 545.81) ready in my account.

So according to the official site, the medical examination will include a medical history review, physical examination, and chest X-ray, gonorrhea test, and blood tests (for applicants 15 years of age or older). The United States also requires tuberculosis (TB) testing for all applicants two years of age and older. They took: blood and urine sample, did chest X-ray(which can show evidence of TB). I saw a doctor/physician who discussed with me my medical history and did my physical examination. 2. I was then given additional vaccination: Influenza, Dultravax, Hepatitis B and MMR. NB: The full results are posted directly to the embassy ahead of the interview.
