I just finished my Wizard review and was curious how the NR100 compare to the K2 r100 frames I reviewed earlier this year. So I swapped the out and took off to explore the office park.

I had the K2 R100 and have all versions of the NR Wizard frame. I agree w/ your assessment of the frame. I ended up selling the R100s and have come to terms that the Wizard frame is worth the expense. The K2 frame felt cheap and hollow. I am a bigger blader (230lbs) and the stability and structure of the Wizard frame is more suited to someone my size. I initially had your problem with the clipping, but have over time come to adjust my skating style - I still clip from time to time, but not as often. Thanks for including your bails - enjoyed the comedic relief.

I think you’re right. The Wizards were so much more stable it’s ridiculous. I really wanted to love the r100.

I've been skating the K2 Sodo R100 for 2 years. For distance and & speed set them up flat with the frames in the forward position on the boot. For the fancy dancey tricks & such use the banana rocker with the frame mounted to the rear position on the boot.

I think you’d enjoy it, but highly recommend 3x instead. The length is just too much to handle for me, and I’d assume most people.

Well, this makes me happy I asked for Trimax frames last Christmas. They really are a lot of fun. I'd only rocker one wheel at a time on them, going high-low-high with them is not a fun ride. I keep them flat, although doing a toe rocker on them is fun too.

I have yet to try big wheels but I have gotten that k2 slalom setup via the uptown. I haven’t had an axel loosening on me on those but that kinda problem seems pretty dangerous in my mind.

Which would you say is better for flatland distance skating? I really like to pump them side to side as well. I don't do a lot of crossovers. I'm thinking the r100 might be good for this. I have the Wizards and I really love them.

How much distance? Truth is, aggressive skates are all going to be heavier than needed for distance. Some Swell or Imperials or Seba FR1 are probably a better choice

Thanks for this video... I wonder what would happen if I put them on my 48 EU size Rollerblade RB 110 boot. I measured the size of the boot and it's 320 mm. Do you think the wheels would stick out a lot?

To get the most from these longer frames you do have to adjust your technique. You seem a bit defeatist on your ability to do so which is a shame, you're so fearless with the grinds. Since I started speed skating I find my skatepark technique has improved a lot as well, much easier to maintain speed, and look much more effortless on the cross overs. Try it!

I think 25 years of hockey skating has me at a disadvantage to learning new techniques. Or at least changing my ways. I love learning new things for distance skating, but crossovers are just too fundamental to me I think.

That's weird. I've skated my R100s a lot since last fall and I never had a problem with loose axles

I never had a problem the first time, but this time they came loose. Really strange but I’ve heard from others it happens

They’re hexagons, so you can rotate them

I only hope that you don’t fall dawn and hurt your shoulders as I did 2 months ago! I am still on rehab as I broke one tendon falling down doing just a simple 180 on my humble Twister X 80 mm with UC 85a yellow wheels. It really hurted! The reason was that when I could get the complete half turn and slided down, I was not using elbow pads and my humerus hit the acromion smashing the top tendon. Nice award: 5 months without skating experience and sick leave! Anyway: again, I wish you start using elbow Gforce pads for your health!!!!

I find the K2 ILQ-9 bearings are really faster, faster than the Wicked ILQ-9's. Going this arvo on my K2r100

When you sell your wizards, they are the 1st on the list, new ones cost really too much, and they must really be magicians if they convince people to spend a lot :-)

They’re not cheap. The nice thing is they last forever, so you never have to replace them.

you should try this rocker ⬆️↙️↘️⬆️ its slalom but not as extreme, much more stability.

Thank you for advise. I will try it as soon as possible. On which boot do you ride tham? I put mine on K2 unnatural and can't complain...r100 is definitely worth the price once you get used to it.
