Back when they ran Kai on NickToons, Trunks’s line “You’ll destroy us all!” was in one of the promo ads for Kai. That line is my favorite line from this scene because of how badass it was in the ad.
@@chidera4137 That’s why the composer got fired and for the blu-rays the score was replaced. It doesn’t matter to me that some scores were plagiarized.
I like how vegeta has almost always has a new skill in every transformation. Base - galic gun, ssj - bing bang attack, super vegeta - final flash, ssj 2 - final explosion
I like the Faulconer score, but the music that played when Vegeta was preparing the attack in this version is really fucking good. Too bad they had to replace it with lazily inserted Kikuchi music. Really, if Funi added the SSJ Vegeta theme when he actually performed Final Flash, this would be the definitive version of the scene.
DBZ Kai isn't as bad as alot of fans make it out to be. Sure it has it's faults, but DBZ had it's own faults too. It doesn't matter if it has Faulconers soundtrack or not, what matters is that it is Dragon Ball Z, and we are its fans.
Not bad. Trunks' line was definitely better in this version, plus Cell actually sounded worried here, which is better as well, but I miss the echo when Vegeta yells Final Flash and the music from the original. But when it comes to that part, NOTHING beats the version where he says "Oh, shit!" XD
Kai is WAYYYYY better. Z was re scripted with very mediocre actors. Kai's actors have gone through YEARS of experience and the lines are very close to the manga.
Vegeta is so blunt and completely unreserved. It makes for some of the best lines in the show hands down. "CELL!- YOU HAVE MOCKED ME FOR THE LAST TIME!!..." No one else in the show talks like this and is meant to be taken seriously, lmfao
Vegeta was already near depleted. In the manga, that sneak attack did work. The next panel showed Cell had bruise on his back. It did at least slightly hurt him and distracted him at the same time.
True, but more than likely, Cell would’ve sensed it before then. Not that Cell could’ve necessarily dodged it in the beam clash with Gohan of course. However, because of how minuscule the energy blast was, it was no wonder it was under the radar, considering how fixated Cell was in annihilating Gohan.
I think people miss the subtlety when Vegeta flying up to get in position for the final flash. You can see the wheels in his head spinning on how he could make sure Cell doesn't just dodge the attack
He used Cell's tactic against him, which is kind of brilliant because Cell is part Vegeta. But then it's not brilliant, because that part is why he's in this mess in the first place. Either way, epic scene in all versions. Original, Kai, TFS, etc.
@@jamesomara3361 might be what actually was going through Vegeta’s head. Vegeta knew Cell used his own pride against him so he tried it himself. The attack just wasn’t strong enough
@@xem2476 no it wasn’t. Put it this way. Both a super kamehameha from a FPSSJ Goku and one from a SSJ2 Gohan didn’t put cell down. You telling me the final flash was stronger then either of those?
@@NYGiantsfan1029 Well all of those attacks disintegrated Cell's body, just not all of it. It's obvious Cell underestimated the blast and dodged it last second, and I didn't say the FF was stronger than the other attacks
At the very least, it might have damaged him as much as Goku's Instant Transmission Kamehameha, which blew away his top half. His ki wouldn't have been nearly as intact regenerating from it.
You know what’s sad, if Cell hadn’t tricked/baited Vegeta like the arrogant DUMBASS he is in this part of the story, his final flash here could’ve ESAILY killed Cell’s previous two forms. But his Saiyan instincts/pride just HAD to get in the way. XD
I tell my friends to watch DB Kai and not z. A mere 170 episodes, no filler, sounds fair. Better voice acting, good OST, animation is really really good too! Man people always just find the dumbest shit to complain about
I like both tbh. Both of them have hits and also misses. For example, in Kai, Goku's ssj3 transformation doesn't have the iconic "and this is to go even further beyond". Instead he says (I haven't watched it in a while so it's not gonna be verbatim) "get ready, this transformation goes way beyond Super Saiyan 2!" And he says it super quick. Vegeta's monologue to The Supreme Kai before him and Goku fight is also better in Z But then, Vegeta's sacrifice against Buu is way better in Kai. So is the "YOU FOOL!" line. Gohan transformation into ssj2 is also way better (the monologue he has to himself in Z is atrocious) Basically I think it's stupid to say that one is objectively better than the other when they both have pros and cons
CEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLL! ONCE AGAIN YOU HAVE TAKEN FOR GRANTED THE POWERS OF A TRUE SAIYAN WARRIOR! Seriously, go watch the Z version then come back to this one. The animation, the music, the lines, the sound effects, Z is just way more epic. After watching that, this version feels kind of hollow and boring.
Loco Doco you found the one part that wasn’t perfect about this scene 💀 that’s okay. You can prefer the classic one. We’re allowed to prefer the one we grew up with
Great scene, though the most disappointing in this scene is Cell not shouting “Oh SHIT!” when getting blasted. The most realistic reaction ever in this situation lmao.
I am convinced nostalgia is the only factor we to why someone would prefer z over Kai. There’s blood, just get the right version. More faithful to source material Less filler Better animation Music feels like it’s for an anime and not some early 2000’s wwe sound track
Judging from the size of that blast, it's weird how it only hit Cell's arm. Could've killed him entirely, but no, Vegeta didn't want to "divert it that way" like Trunks says later in the episode.
When I first saw the final flash I freaked the f**k out holy s**t the blast was so powerful I almost thought he was gonna blow up the planet with everyone on it including cell 😂and maybe himself😂
I like how Vegeta says: If you have the courage, avoid it. I wish he would say like the Japanese, you must be a coward. It's good that he says it in games.
If Cell took it head on like Vegeta dared it would have completely vaporized him like his loss against Gohan. Vegeta was sooo close too but it really shows the power of the final flash from a weaker compared to the Kamehameha from a stronger opponent
Trunks: He's daring cell not to Dodger his attack but if he really fires at him from that angle. Krillin: Whoa I didn't even think about that with that much power charged up forget cell he's liable to blow up the planet. 🌍 Vegeta: FINAL FLASH
I find that pretty cool when it used that Kai theme instead of the original Z theme onto this clip here of Super Vegeta using the Final Flash against Perfect Cell. It is pretty epic.
I'll give Kai this, Vegeta's yell after he says "Final Flash!" is better than the original, as in better acted, but this scene pals in comparison to OG eng dub with eng music. This version feels more drawn out even with it's shorter runtime and the atmosphere is nearly nonexistent. The new animation also looks too cartoony and bright instead of the ridgid and dirty animation of the OG. All in all, it doesn't matter how accurate the dialogue is to the manga if the series sacrifices the quality and atmosphere of the show
I liked everything in this scene better than the original English dub except for when Vegeta actually said final flash. I still like this version I just kind of like the way the original English dub made it kind of echo more.
Bruh i use to fucking hate how they use to drag out every damn thing it jumped from face to face to face to face couple rocks floating back to face to face to face couple words spoken back to multiple face expressions....final flash ....next time on dragonball z ......credits
