This is actually from a TV program called Jim’ll Fix It. Where the host ‘fixes’ it for each guest who writes in with a ‘wish’. Kajagoogoo and a newly solo Limahl appeared on this. And we won’t say anything more about Saville!
I dunno the details of the split, as I see it the style of Limahl is quite the opposite of the one Beggs showed as a singer. Fact is, I can't think about one singer that could replace Limahl, nor one bass player with the skill and stage presence of Beggs. They should have split roles depending on the song maybe but that kinda dilutes the identity of a pop group. An unsolvable problem.
Good on Kajagoogoo doing this - a very caring and kind band. Lhamil is fabulous with the girl. My favorites of this band are Lhamil, Jez and Nick. Can't pick one
Great video! Unfortunately, there were few video clips. It could have been more. Now to our great pleasure!!! Here in the eastern part, we looked at it with admiration, the big dream is the western half. That's right, but their music came later! I thought of Kajagoogoo et al! Unfortunately, today's young people do not really understand this message. The point!!!!! Long live the 80s! I would forever be stuck in the great and happy years of 1979-1991 again and again!!! + It would also be a bonus year! From 1997 to 2001 inclusive! It's strange to see the stars in their old form! The point is the young people! DON'T GET OLD!!!!
Limahl face and eye in this performance remind me of lead singer from Fox the Fox (Precious Little Diamond) And Nick Beggs always look like Nick Heyward long lost brother haha.
@@ggagg123 I’m only part Scottish. The other parts are Welsh, English, Spanish and Native American! Quite a miss mash!!! I do LOVE Scotland, though and I play the bagpipes too! Slainte!!!!
i would be POOPING in my pants if i ever got to perform this song with Kajagoogoo... AND if he were to hold my hand .... i would have fainted on stage LOL
This is sweet. Girl can't sing great ( i mean she does good anyway) but Limahl holds her hand conforting her meaning "it's ok, lets do this". Ah man, the 80's.
I wish that was me, singing with Limahl and Kajagoogoo...sniff, sniff 😢🤧😭Of course, minus the hand holding, because I'm a dude, and I don't swing that way, but I got a special girl in mind I wouldn't mind holding hands with. (Fyi: Not this girl)
@@mstrikesback168 Yes, so true. Luckily, I know when the verse changes and keep the tempo. I love singing this song, and thinking about that 'special girl.'
My favourite Kajagoogoo track. It sounds like Limahl was actually singing live as it is subtly different to the studio recording. He certainly could sing much better than Nick Beggs!!
This track and "Too Shy" are by far, their standout songs. Any other songs of theirs in that league? I never heard any solo Limahl that was nearly as good. BTW, he was very kind to the girl who really didn't sing well. She was off pitch too often. Gee, who would have thunk Limahl a lead singer is a better singer than Nick, a bass player/songwriter... But actually Nick is a super talented musician if you look up his videos on YT and I can imagine if he took vocal lessons, he could be on par with Limahl.
yea, but nick is an absolutely insane bassist.Even he recognised the need for a proper frontman when they signed limahl in the first place. of that era, there's only mark king from level 42 who was on the same level
@@bigmacntings7451agreed. But even Nick himself thinks Mark King is way above him and is one of his top inspirations. Nick saw the, then known Chris Hanills, talent and charisma at the very first audition and made sure Limahl got the job immediately. Even phoning him for weeks when Chris was on holiday in the America, to make absolutely sure he took the job. It’s unfortunate that they imploded so soon.
The format of the show was to draw a letter from one of the viewers and make their wish come true. The girl is indeed one of the viewers and she wished in the letter to sing with Kajagoogoo.
