Glad you enjoy the video. Message me if you have any questions. Look closely to what's actually going on before the disarms. Most people watching RU-vid probably won't see it. ;)
Could you do a vid on the choices of weapons people are likely to use and the advantages and disadvantages of them. Like people that train with rattan but when in combat they won't have it. They will likely have a tactical baton which is heavier and does a lot more damage. I want to do a vid showing the differences between the two. I actually train with half inch pvc pipe for training. I work with it all the time. I also could use some iron pipe we have for gas fitting if I had to in a situation.
We were just talking about doing real world weapons/equalizers videos in 2015. We'll definitely be getting to that. Thanks for your input Tyler I appreciate it!
Kali Center right on can't wait. The baton I wanna get is called quickstick from skulknives. It has a button in the bottom so you can trust with it and it won't close.
the heavier weight will tire you more rapidly. also, if you're training to defend yourself against improv or real world weapons, try to be prepared for any length, and even a bent item; such as a cane. canes make amazingly versatile improv weapons.
We've done all of our training with tire irons, crowbars, live blades of different styles and weights, pipes, etc. This Spring we're doing some videos that will be covering all those different tools as weapons and testing them. We have some wicked cool segments coming this year!
Good stuff. Just one point. You say in reality one should do ... In reality you will do whatever you practice over and over. This why police officers disarm criminals then hand them back the weapon. Bad muscle memory. So do it in training just as you want to on the street.
Demonstration and presentation of disarming techniques is good but I'd like to see these techniques performed with a same strike but without constraints or controlled manner. 99 % you wont be able to catch a strike, how much more doing a disarm. Must show application without constraints. Just an advise.
Kali Center right! I am a Judo-ka but due to variations for sports there are always missing pieces. Kali is realistic and quick, fatal and best for defense. It can be for both attack and defence.
Karate is what you get when you strip all weapon practice from the art. It was designed by people who knew weaponry, but hadn't practiced in a long time.
good simple disarms but where is your live hand man :/ also, your logo looks an awfull lot like the abstergo logo (assassins creed), be aware of copyright issues with ubisoft ^^
