Having himself a tournament. He had 17 points and 14 assists in the first round, 27 points and 9 assists in the second round, and now 20 points, 5 steals, and 19 assists in the third round. 64 points and 42 assists in three games.

Maybe a few questionable shots, but with the way he plays Tang we’ll take the bomb as he has a decent shot at making them. With a player like Nowell, you take the bad with the good, and most nights that’s worth it.

I can't help but think of Spud Webb - 5' 7" player who won the NBA slam dunk contest in 1986. He had a good NBA career - maybe Nowell is next. I was torn between admiration and wanting to puke when (injured) he made that RIDICULOUS off balance 3-pointer just before the shot clock expired. I never like to see any of these kids get hurt, but I have to confess, there was a part of me that wished that ankle injury was worse - shame on me, but I am only human - not sure Nowell is - that was superhuman.

Here are some of the feel-good storylines for this year's K-State team: -Keyontae Johnson's return to the court -Markquis Nowell playing out of his mind as a massively undersized 5'8" point guard -This is Jerome Tang's first year not only as head coach of the Cats, but his first year as an HC anywhere -The team brought in ELEVEN new players after being down to just Nowell and Massoud from last year's roster -The team was picked to finish LAST PLACE in the Big 12 this season They feel like the team of destiny in this year's tournament.

What a show. Michigan St was lights-out from 3. And so consistent from the stripe… This win was more than Nowell & KJ. Carter had the best game I’ve seen from him all season. Massoud was definition clutch. Sills playing hard as always when we need momentum. Ngessan made some big time put-backs. Tomlin was passing dimes. Tang and the coaching staff letting these players be themselves.… and only 5 TURNOVERS. I’m so grateful as a KSU alum to watch the harmony. Love this team and proud no matter how far they go

Way back when k-state was in the 2012 NCAA tournament in Pittsburgh (before losing to Syracuse in 2nd round) we had some interactions with Ohio State and MSU folks who were also playing in the same region. Both of those fanbases were pretty chill- Syracuse fans...not so much

Nowell has to be one of the best pure pgs I've seen in awhile. Really comparable to a cp3 or a nash. You don't see many people who can really get the whole team involved and have a double double with assists from the PG. I'm rooting for them

What a beautiful ending to this game. Came down to the last seconds, ending with a steal and a layup that felt like a grand finale to a rollercoaster of a game. And what a great call by Brian Anderson at the end there to really capture the emotion and intensity inside the arena. That is why he is calling tournament games.

Over here on this side of the pond I forgot about the start of the Madness and this was the first full game I watched , lucky me !!! Great game from the little fella ! On the same day in the morning watched the Parramatta Eels overtime win over Penrith in the NRL and that was a wild finish too ! Sport everywhere 👍
