Panjulri depicted here is not the Varaha avatar of Vishnu. The demigod depicted here is actually related to Lord Shiva. If I remember correctly Panjulri is the offspring of a wild boar in Parvati's garden which she adopts. People often make the mistake of assuming the Varaha Roopam is referring to Lord Vishnu so I just pointed it out. The performance you see in the movie can be seen in parts of Karnataka where Tulu is spoken and the northern parts of Kerala mainly Kasargod.

Varaha Roopam Daiva varishtam meaning- Panjurli the Demi God is supreme of all Demi God's.. Panjurli,a Boar spirit that is worshipped to ward off the menace of wild boars in order to protect the crops. According to Tulu history (Tulunadu is land of tulu speaking people in Karnataka, india) a wild boar perished in Lord Shiva's pleasure garden.The young boar's offspring was adopted by Goddess Parvati.. God Vishnu's avatar of varaha & Demi god panjurli both are different..

I tell u about yugas 1- Satya yug means time of truth where no evilness 2- treta Yuga period of lord Rama where is enemy is outside the family 3- dwaparyuga period of lord Krishna or Mahabharata in which evilness is in the family 4- kaliyuga in which we are living in which there is evilness in person itself in which person has both good and evil reside in him that's why this is the last Yuga and after its destruction by kalki then new life will begin again this is the simplest explaination. You know why it is called kaliyuga because there was demon name Kali I don't remember exactly but he I think burn by lord Shiva from then he doesn't have physical form he is representation of evil. After the Mahabharata war the grand son of Pandavas and the son of abhimanyu parikshit became king he was very good king that's why Kali was unable to enter his mind but one day something happens I am not able to remember because this stories I have heard in childhood something happens and Kali enters the parikshits mind and corrupt it and from that time kaliyuga begins and now we see what we have become.

I tell u story of narsimha there is one boy name pralhad he was great devotee of lord Vishnu and his father hated Vishnu so he tries to kill his son many times. also pralhads father was devotee of lord Shiva and after praying for many years he impresses lord Shiva and then lord Shiva ask him what is your wish then he asked lord Shiva to fullfill his wish which is like, that no human, man or woman, not any animal can kill you and also u cannot be killed at night or morning and also u cannot be killed inside or outside of your house. After many failed attempt to kill pralhad which is his son one day he asked pralhad where is Vishnu in his court in front of all peoples then pralhad reply whenever you see there is lord Vishnu the his father asked him is he in that pillar then pralhad say yes then he broke the pillar and then lord Vishnu came out as a narsimha now u remember what he asked to lord Shiva, look narsimha is not fully animal or human also that was not the time of morning and night and then narsimha killed him at the door which is not inside or outside the house, that's how lord Vishnu also respected the lord Shivas blessing.

The subtitles for this film were done by someone from outside the Tulunadu region who is not familiar with the culture. So, there are a lot of inaccuracies. Like others have pointed out that Panjurli is not Varaha. I would like to add that Bhutas / Daivas are not Demi-Gods (literally meaning half-gods). A better translation is Divine / Guardian Spirit. They oversee a particular area and protect it and everything that lives on it. Every village / town / clan has its own Bhutas that they worship. There are many Bhutas, some may represent elements of nature like the Boar, the buffalo, the tiger and some ancestral spirits like warriors, wise women, or other local legends that a particular community looks up to.

the avatar list you pulled was a bit wrong...krishna is the most famous and most important avatar of vishnu who decided the fat of mahabharat,the largest war between good and evil...but he was itself not shown on the list,instead,his older brother balaram was shwon...

I am sorry but about the avatars of lord vishnu your knowledge is a bit incorrect, lord parshuram does not have instincts of animals (i know u didnt say that) like anger etc. each avatar signifies different things, different parts of life and the world. and matsya wasn't the first living thing the world according to hindu mythology there were humans before that. you should watch dashavatar (an old animated movie about avatars of lord vishnu) it is not 100% accurate but it gives a very good (+ much more accurate than other forms of visual media) idea about the 10 avatars and their reasons / roles. BTW great reaction + good to see someone doing good research about the stuff they are reacting to as well as hindu mythology

SPOILER ALERT. SKIP THIS COMMENT IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE. I just noticed the only issue I could find with this movie. The king drops his sword with the sheath in one of the scenes in the beginning. However, when in the end Shiva plucks out the sword from the ground, it is unsheathed. Is it meant to be a symbolism of the same sword, or do we assume it is a different one?
