There are 2 demigods mentioned in this Movie.. Panjurli and Guliga. Panjurli is a calm and caring demigod (The one which you saw with makeup) Guliga is the Ferocious demigod which possessed shiva during the fight to provide justice. During the king's promise in beginning of movie.. Panjurli warns him that if the promise is broken Guliga won't forgive.
It's only in India that a boy from that culture in the forest grows up and tells us about his culture that exists and is thriving. Rishabh shetty , the writer director actor, is from that culture. And BTW no stuntmen were harmed during the shooting of this film, Rishabh did all those fights himself.
It is not screams.. if you listen carefully... different shouts means something... different emotions in different shouts.. 🙏..it is kind of a way our daiva communicates with us.. 🙏
43:31 So basically these kind of demigod rituals happens through lineages where they channel the demigod through their body. The protagonist Shiva is from that lineage, but instead of doing what he is supposed to do he does bad things like hunting the wild boar etc. Whenever he does bad things, the demigod appear to him through visions, dreams etc to remind him who he is and what he is supposed to do. These demigods in India are called Kshetrapala (Guardian of a particular land). These guardians have the essence of Shiva, Vishnu or Shakti (Feminine entity of Shiva. In Hinduism male gods are passive and female gods are active. That's why you see Kali standing on Shiva who is portrayed like a corpse which indicates he is a passive form of energy) depending on the locality. Their job is to protect those who are living in that locality from evil. Modern India have lost most of these cultures, however if you go to other parts of India like Mangalore, Kerala and some other, you can see they have retained the culture and follow it till date. I have actually seen one of these Bhotakola performed in a village. Not exaggerating, you can see some unbelievable things happen there which is very hard to explain.
Varaha Roopam Daiva varishtam meaning- Panjurli the Demi God is supreme of all Demi God's.. Panjurli,a Boar spirit that is worshipped to ward off the menace of wild boars in order to protect the crops. According to Tulu history (Tulunadu is land of tulu speaking people in Karnataka, india) a wild boar perished in Lord Shiva's pleasure garden. The young boar's offspring was adopted by Goddess Parvati..
The Demogods mentioned in the movie for ease of understanding categorized as Kshetrapala ( Kshetra meaning location or a certain place and Pala meaning caretaker ). Ever heard of a certain energy one feels while visiting a certain place. Just imagine again for ease of understanding green lantern corps reference where universe is divided into manageable sectors and each sector has a resident protector similarly in Indian tradition each village or forest area used to have a Kshetrapala Daiva (Daiva loosly meaning demigod ) who used to watchover that region of earth be it a village or forest region. These Kshetrapalas could be male or female entities are known to be minions of Shiva or Parvathi (Shivas wife). Each of these Kshetrapala have a origin story and in this case Panjurli was created by Parvathi as a pet in Himalayas but he soon started being too naughty and damaged peoples gardens and farmlands and they complained to Shiva. Shiva killed the little boar and Parvathi got sad and angry at Shiva. Shiva retrieved the little boar's sprit, blessed it and sent him to Tulunadu region to guard that land. Guliga has a different darker origin story but even he is created by Shiva and later joins Panjurli to guard the region. Panjurli and Guliga are like good and bad cop. Panjurli is worshiped along with other deities at home but Guliga the dark one is always represented as a irregular rock half burred beneath a tree with in the premises of the house boundary fence protecting the house. This is common feature of every traditional house in that region. Do you guys have any thing like forest or village guardian spirits in your tradition? Mind you Panjurli and Guliga are specific to Tulu nadu region and there are similar references to other Kshetrapala Daivas for different regions with different origin stories.
No bro ..this not a true story ..but yes things like this keep on happening in all part of managlore....daiva means every thing to us ..we pray more to our daiva than gods.
So at starting ,Shivas father use to get posssed by Demi god Panjruli, and when Landlord challanged him that he is not demigod insted he is just performer , demigod said - if iam demigod you will not find me again ( so basically Shivas father possed by Demigod Panjurli goes inside forest and get vanished / dies without leaving his body ) 2nd time ) At Ending after a fighting, when Shiva lies on ground ( he was died already ) but beacuse his family memebers gets possed by Demi god Purnjurli , he also got possed by Panjurli companion Guliga (this Demigod is Aggrasive in nature ) and make Shiva alive again and he fights the Landlord. as Shiva is already died and he is alive only because of he is possed by demi god Guliga , so at end of movie Shiva also get possed by Demigod Panjurli again and he finally performs act for the first time and at ends he runs inside forest meets his father and Vanishes.( as Shiva is already dead ) Shiva use to get nightmares beacuse he belong to families who get possed by Demigods but he is acting ver badly ( like drinking, smoking, killing wild animals etc..) , so demi god Panjurli keeps giving him warning time to time to gethimself devote towards the cause what his familiy has choosen for. ps- Guliga demigod is given rice at end beacuse he is firocious and always hungry
Actually guliga come to birth by killing his own mother (curse of her deeds) in one of the legand story, in other he doesn't want come to earth from usual way he come to earth from her breast & will always hungry for food.he is offered puffed rice & in few areas raw cock .
In india there are rituals for god and goddess. There is something called as “navas” in Maharashtra. That if we ask something to god and if we get and we promise to give something back in return. Where we are also committed to give the first born child to god. This movie is just a small part of varied rituals in india. There are about 33 koti devs meaning 33 different devs. Which we believe to reside in the cow. So cow is sacred to us. We make offerings to god during certain period of time mentioned according to vedic calander. To protect the land we live in. Every villages have their traditional offerings to god during that period.
You asked right what is companion spirit in first part the god which possessed the body is companion spirit called guliga of panjuruli. Guliga is kshetra palaka means gaurdian of place and he is always ferocious
@@ankurtiwari905 MOLLYWOOD is a film industry in southern part of India KERALA Malayalam is language spoken so industry is known as MOLLYWOOD INDUSTRY GOT IT.
So I was listening to an explanation which said shiva probably did die when the tall guy choked him. Guliga possessed him to save the villagers and punjurli deva granted him a little more life. Later during the kola performance his wife is pregnant and all then he leaves and sees his father in forest and vanishes with him.
Shiva knew what will happen in future when he encountered with he saw vision that's he will get killed in action, he died in action in last before he gets possessed. And in last that's the reason he gets disappear because his purpose got served and God has to leave his body
All demigods r related to shivas world called as shivaganas ....panjurli is a God and guligga is a ferocious war, so God's can forgive u but guligga won't, he dint spare his own mom. It's varaha roopa not varaha
The best scientific explanation "Who or u may say what is god?" one will find In Vedanta (Hindu philosophy), God is referred to as “Brahman,” and the word “Brahman” means vast or unlimited. So, Brahman is not limited by time, which means it is eternal. It is not limited by space, which means it is everywhere. God / Brahman is not in me but I am in brahman so do you🙏
Please don't think of immitating those dhivas anyway either it maybe for entertainment ( fancy dress etc ) or for youtubes ( comedy videos ).please . It's like insult to people beliefs and million years old tradition
